BR: Charlotte Jane has arrived.
I would have loved to post earlier but my phone wouldnt cooperate. Charlotte Jane was born 5/2 at 9:10 am without giving us plenty of drama. We went to the hospital about 4pm on Sunday after rushing around all day stressed. We checked in and after a small checkup- they told us we were already 3cm and too far for Cervidil (sorry I cant spell it). We had two options - go home and come back at 4 am or start petocin then. I was not about to go home at that point after being hooked up and strapped in. We settled in and called our parents to let them know we were speeding up the process. i had two failed attempts to break my water, but finally about 9pm they were successful. I was about 6cm when I finally received an epi - however, we didnt make any progress the next two hours. I thought I was in for the long haul so I decided to try to sleep. I woke up about 11pm with 4 nurses rushing in and the attending doctor waking me up as quickly as possible and cutting my belly band and monitors off. They literally scared me wide awake. They put internal monitors in to track the babies heartbeat since it was dropping on and off. We had three more scares in the middle of the night with her heart rate dropping, them putting me on oxygen and consulting the doctor to see how we were doing. They were not sure whether it was the cord wrapped around her neck which scared us, however, we didn't know. When they checked me at 6am I was ready to push, however, it was shift change and they wanted to get everyone set prior to me pushing. I started pushing about 7:30 and they basically told me that it would be a tough process - she turned around facing the wrong way, and with their fears of the cord we were not sure if I would be able to push her out. After stopping to monitor her heart rate and putting me back on oxygen, the doctor was prepping for a c-section. She told me if i could do it- she would let me push, but it was going to be hard. We finally were successful with pushing and she joined us at 9:10 am. 7lbs 11.5 ounces 21.5 inches long. She has blondish hair in the front and dark in the back which is pretty funny. She has kept us pretty busy in the last week and we are loving having her around.

Stand up for something you believe in.
She is 5 days old in this picture. We did them early thinking she would sleep more--- not the chance. She was wide awake and I had to feed her SO much to get her sleepy!
