Good morning, ladies! Back to the grind this morning, but how were your weekends?
We ended up running around a lot. On Saturday we talked to a landscaper, visited with my grandfather in the nursing home, then hung out with the rest of my family for my sister's birthday. Yesterday was a lot of general chores and then Mother's Day dinner.
Oh, how was Mother's Day for the moms on the board? I think it's the first one for all of you--Kiwi, Punky, LadyE?
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: How was your weekend?
Weekend was ok! I did an MS Walk on Saturday with a few of my patients and our clinic staff and the rain held off! My hip decided to stop working around mile 5 though and I limped the next 3 miles. As soon as we finished and I got in my car, it started raining. I was so happy that it held off!
Mother's Day was ok-- spent it at my parents house. I made strawberry shortcakes for dessert and I tried a new biscuit recipe that was delicious!
Happy Monday!
I had a good weekend- too short, as usual.
Saturday night we celebrated my father's birthday with a cook out turned cook in (well, cook-in for everyone but my H who was grilling steak in the rain!)
Sunday we did breakfast with my mother and sisters, then we went out to lunch and DH took me to the mall and told me to go crazy. But of course I ended up mostly buying for DS. On the way home, H was disappointed that I barely chose stuff for myself and I told him I want a new dining set, so we're going to start looking at them and hopefully choose one within the next week!
It was a great weekend! So warm and sunny.
Friday night DH and I went to dinner. Saturday we all went to the beach, then took the dog for a long walk. We were so tired that night!
Yesterday, DH got up with DS, made me breakfast in bed, played with him so I could snooze a little bit longer, and we took the dog to the state park for a nice, long walk, he cooked me a delicious dinner, and then I watched several episodes of My So Called Life on Netflix
Weekend was good!
Saturday we did a 5k (our first!) and was so happy that the weather decided to be nice. The 5k was good - I finished with a much better time than I expected but I'm frustrated that I felt the need to walk for a few seconds. And now, thanks to a lovely hill at the end of the course, I've got shin splints in my left leg.
Saturday night DH and I went to dinner and movie. We saw Something Borrowed - it was cute!! I read the books, but like 5 years ago so I didn't really remember much about the storyline. John Krasinski was funny as always and Colin Egglesfield was scrumptious to look at!
Sunday was breakfast with MIL, church and then I made a nice dinner for DH, MIL and myself.
Stressful.
We got back from "vacation" on Friday and started packing the POD that's in our driveway. The rest of the weekend was packing and starting to stage the house while MIL watched DD.
And my MIL drives me nuts. So that wasn't much fun.
But we went out for a very nice dinner last night. The NY strip steak was divine

it was good! I took Friday off and did some work around the house and yard - put all the cabinet knobs and handles on, planted some new plants and flowers outside, and relaxed.
Saturday we did more work in the kitchen - all the electrical is done, lights are installed, and my parents were up here and we went to Maggianos for dinner.
Yesterday we installed the new microwave and put the fridge back and I started moving stuff into the cabinets. Then DH's aunt invited us over for dinner since she knew we still don't have a functional kitchen.
I also felt pretty good all weekend (no nausea, etc), but today I'm feeling blah again.
We've already talked about doing another one! DH, who was way more nervous going into the race than I was, said he wanted to do another one like 15 minutes after the race was over!! We saw a sign on our way home for a race in the next town over in June - so if we're still around we'll probably be doing that one!
Now, just gotta get these shin splints under control!
Weekend was productive. The rain stopped us from enjoying the day, but that made us get stuff done around our place, which was needed. DH did a lot, and I mostly went shopping, bringing him back more stuff to install/put together
I was kinda moody yesterday, which has been happening around ovulation time lately....weird, crazy hormones.
mesa, lburkey, and SCM, congrats on your walk/runs! I feel like a lazy bum now
Dr.L, are you packing all your stuff into the pod already or only extra "things" to stage the house better for sale? How's the renewed house hunt going?
LadyE, that's sweet that your husband sent you shopping for Mother's Day. And I agree with him, you should've gotten some things for yourself! Though new furniture is nice too so maybe I should actually say, "Well played!"
Just extra stuff. The front room looks 3x bigger without all the "stuff" in it.
We have a new list of houses to see. DH is coming up to train for his new job for the next couple of weeks, so DD and I will probably come visit for a few days and start to look at more houses.

At least you're searching during the right season. Hopefully there's lots of good inventory to look through.
Dr. L., good luck with the packing. And the house-hunting - fingers crossed this is the trip!
We had a crazy weekend. We had my in-laws, my mother, and my husband's grandmother over for lunch yesterday. So Saturday, we cleaned and did a ton of errands to get ready. Yesterday, more cleaning, and everyone came over around noon. I was *so* nervous because my FIL is the best cook - we go to their house for holidays, and everything just tastes delicious. I took the easy way out and made chicken parm, because it's the one thing I knew would turn out ok. Which it did, thankfully. Everyone got along, and even Jack behaved himself. (He's not good with people at all, but by the end of lunch, he was letting my FIL pet him.) Grandma told us hilarious stories about her working days, including the time she had to negotiate with the Shah of Iran and got so annoyed by the fact that he was pretending not to speak English that she refused to back-down from their original price. I love that woman.
Wow, what did your grandma do for a living? She sounds cool
She was a contract negotiator for Arthur D. Little. And she's bad*ss to this day. My favorite story is the time she was in Vegas, maybe 10-15 years ago, and someone tried to steal her purse over the door of the bathroom stall. She managed to stop her from getting the purse chase her down, and smack her over the head with her purse, subduing her until the police showed up. She's 88 now, so she was in her 70s at that point. She pressed charges, and she was all set to fly out there to testify, but the chick copped a plea - apparently, her lawyers advised her that a 70something year old key witness who was willing to fly cross-country to testify against her would not be in her favor.
She's the best. (And she's my husband's grandma, but I've totally co-opted her as my own.)
ead1975- That's the most awesome grandma story I've heard in a very long time. I'd claim her as my own as well.
My weekend was pretty good until allergies kicked my bum on Sunday. Sunday afternoon I napped to try to get rid of my headache. Other than that... a fantastic weekend. This week is looking good too. Thursday evening, mother sauces class at Stir, Friday evening, dinner out and Kathy Griffin at the Wilbur, Saturday, board meeting in the morning but South End Open Studios in the afternoon, Sunday, a trip to Mahoney's and gardening! : )
