BR: what did you get for Mother's Day?
So what did you gals get for Mother's Day yesterday? For the 1st time moms you had an awesome weather day out (my 1st Mother's Day was very rainy....oh well).
I rec'd a bracelet w/mom charms on it & another bracelet w/flowers from the kids. I also rec'd flowers from them & DH.
DH also gave me some money for me to pamper myself at a spa when we go to FL at the end of the month for a wedding/vacation.
He also did the dishes all day, so that was nice to not have to do much yesterday & take it easy.....
Re: BR: what did you get for Mother's Day?
DH surprised me with a gift certificate for an 80 minute massage and breakfast at Visions in Novi plus I'm getting my sewing machine.

DH & Brendan bought me a new charm for my bracelet.
On saturday I got a surprise cake that DD knows is my favorite. So she asked DH to help her--he googled a recipe and they made it from scratch! I was so excited, I had to for lunch.
On Sunday I got breakfast in bed, plus DD's craft project she made at school. Plus, she and DH both gave me cute cards and DH bought me a collage picture frame with "FAMILY" in the middle. The whole weekend was very nice, and DD was so into it. It was adorable!
And...this morning she was a cranky hot mess getting ready for school. Ahhh...until next year.
I got a cricut (the target daily deal that was posted a while ago) I bought it for myself so it wasnt exactly a suprise but dh knew I wanted one and he would have had no idea where to start, a new camera and Lucas shared his cold with me :P
Mommy's little helper
DH had to work
But he had flowers sitting on the kitchen table for when I woke up. Then later he gave me a "mother" frame with a picture collage he did of the boys.
Did anyone hear 95.5 this morning? I missed it Friday, but they were talking to some guy who wouldn't get his wife a mother's day present. He felt since it's Mother's Day, their son should go out and buy the present. Their son is 2! They invited her to their Naughty Mom's Night Out event on Friday and she couldn't make it because her husband wouldn't baby-sit their son.
Mommy's little helper
I agree - dads cannot use the title "baby sit" - they can watch their child but not baby sit.
DH actually got me a card (that he edited with a pen), but at one point I was in the kitchen and heard a whole bunch of loud plastic rustling going on upstairs and thought OMG he totally got me something how sweet.
Turns out he was putting away the paper towel and toilet paper.
i heard it on friday but not this morning so i didn't get the update. that was a total jerk thing to do but i get the impression there is more to the story as far as the wife is concerned. she seems like a total push over and didn't really care that he wasn't getting her anything - i get the impression she was just trying to use it to get the naughty mom's night out tickets and he wasn't thrilled she made a fool of him on the radio.
they both sounded like complete idiots to me.
UGH! Male CW says he has to babysit his two kids when his SAH wife has something going on here and there. I yell at him everytime, it's annoying. they are your kids, you can't baby sit them!
My present is order and won't be here for a few weeks. I am having a pearl mounted and a charm made for my necklace. We went to Partridge Creek, where I got 2 more pairs of jeans, bought DH a golf shirt and DS an outfit.
Oh and I got a slurpee! Maybe if we win the lottery, I can own a slurpee machine!
Exactly, it's not baby-sitting, it's parenting. What a d-bag!
DH got me a dozen yellow roses and a card that was cute. I went to BB&B and got a new rack to store spices on (and it's fits the larger Tastefully Simple ones!) DH kept the kids busy all day so I could do whatever I wanted. I watched a couple of movies, read a book, cleaned my bathroom and organized some drawers. Great day!
I got to get up early with the kids and dog, make everyone breakfast, go grocery shopping, buy myself flowers, and put the kids to bed.
Dh didn't do a thing for me, but he did take me to the Green St Fair--- mainly because it was so nice out and he wanted to get out of the house.... Ha!!
