NER: Daughter of the Bride
My mom told me Thursday that she will be getting married Thanksgiving weekend in Chi town -- and guess who gets to be matron of honor?
She said she'll have a list of things for me that she'll need help with that day.
I said my only request is that my best friend (who I get to see maybe once a year -- and who, for the last six months I planned to see that night ) attend.
She said "we'll see."
GRRRR!!!

Re: NER: Daughter of the Bride
Is this a last minute wedding?
I hope it all works out.
Yes. She's been teasing at it for months. She wanted to do it when I was in town -- but none of the groom's kids will be in town (he has five).

How hard is it to have the one guest you ask for?!
I hope it all works out well!?
my read shelf:
Um, congratulations?
Stand firm on the friend. Not a request, but a firm statement. You are coming to town to see the friend and that is non-negotiable.
Or tell her she can pay for your ticket to come some other weekend.
Yeah!
She invited the friend -- so happy I can see her.
Now I will plop on my MOH hat and smile.
