My DS just flipped a lid

So I was coming home from his BBall game and I started not feeling good. I was hoping to make it home. I made it to the driveway and as I lost my cookies my DS flipped a lid . He was crying and screeching I kept trying to tell him  I was OK and it was from the baby but he was still really shaken at bed. (only 15 minutes later) If anyone has advice I could use some.I felt so bad for him. He is 7 and understands getting sick so I'm not sure what made him react that way.

  • Awwww, poor thing. He's probably so worried for you. He's such a sweet, smart little boy, so I'm sure that some talking to and maybe a book or two about becoming a big brother will do the trick. Then again, I'm sure you've already got all of that covered. (((hugs)))
  • 8 yrs ago I had kidney stones. my then 10yr old brother was home with me after I was discharged from the hospital. My pain meds had not kicked in yet and when I'm in a lot of pain I start to shake really bad.  My brother did not understand this and when my mom came home she found me buried under about 4 blankets and 3 comforters.

    He was even more hysterical to watch as I was having contractions at mom's house.

  • sorry you're not feeling well...

    maybe you should just sit with him and have a discussion asking why he was upset? was he feeling scared? just let him talk it out so you can reassure his worries...

    let us know what happens

    Poor guy.  He's used to you being in control and taking care of him -- he was probably freaked because he felt helpless and didn't know what to do.  See how he is tomorrow - he might have just been in shock from the sudden-ness of it happening like that.
