So lets talk about card prices
Since I brought up the topic of gas prices, I'd like to throw this up for discussion.
Even more alarming than gas prices-what the heck is up with card prices! $5.99 for a greeting card? Seriously? I'd rather give someone $6 in a plain white envelope!
Am I cheap?
Re: So lets talk about card prices
You aren't cheap but did you know the dollar stores have cards? They are just as nice as gretting cards at target/walmart or wherever you get them but cheaper!
We bought a REALLY nice one yesterday for MIL for 54 CENTS!
Honestly, DH and I have a "no card" policy for most occasions because I refuse to pay that much when they just get thrown away. It's stupid to pay that!
PCOS and Endo
Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
BFP - 3/27/12
Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
We ALWAYS buy the cheap cards. Sometimes it hurts but absolutely will not refuse to buy $6 cards. I went to Target to get two cards for work that I would be reimbursed for so I didn't look at the price tags. $10 later- I was FLOORED! I mean, I knew they were expensive, but what the hell?
I like what Rachel and Rodgers did for their anniversary....go to the store together, pick them out and show each other but not buy them. Way better.
I think it's insane what they're charging for cards. I now see the reason people are buy Cricuts and making their own.
I went to by two mothers day cards and they were over $10, only because I never got over to the dollar store.

us too. we also put small cards in the visors and work bags even lunch boxes.
I love paper - I love Papyrus cards -- depending on who the card is for and the occasion, I will easily pay $4 or $6 for a card.
that being said, BILs graduation card was 99 cent Hallmark card.
This is me, also.
However, I do think some cards are NOT worth the $6 bucks. Come on, give me some glitz and fancypants if I'm going to pay over $5...

I think everyone's just got different priorities and opinions of cards.
I've always been a card person; not everyone is. I'm glad Eric is, 'cause it'd suck to have a card person married to a non-card person. It'd be like someone who loves to make a big deal of holiday and birthday gifts married to someone who wasn't into it all.
I search through and read every card to find the perfect one. I find out the price at the counter. That's just me. Heck, I even couldn't find a good anniversary card for my parents while we were at Hallmark, so I waited to buy one (it's on the 19th) and ended up finding a good one at Stop & Shop. Go figure.

I can be cheap with Rodgers, but for friends or family who live away from us, we buy cards. And if I'm going to buy a card...I don't usually go with the $0.99 rack.
I really love Papyrus! The one we gave our friend who just graduated was a little foam flipflop wearing a mortarboard. It was $6. If I don't buy Papyrus, I usually go with a Hoops and Yoyo audio card. Last time I was on Hallmark website, they were charging for almost all of the H&Y ecards. Ridiculous!
This is my story...I used to be like you card lovers but now I'm cheap.
