Hmph. Monday.

I survived it but my work computer did not. We have a desktop upstairs that I use for work b/c it's hardlined into the router so it's super fast connection speeds for legal research, which is key. We have a 10+ year old desktop downstairs that is basically just for storage at this point as it has a massive hard drive but it moves in reverse it has so little RAM. Then we have a 7+ year old laptop that doesn't work unless plugged in and only runs Open Office. That's what I'm playing on now.

So which machine gets nailed with a virus today? Yep, the work desktop of course. Frak. I did nothing - we are so careful, and we still got nailed. I unplugged the external hard drive that has all of our backup and stuff on it once I noticed what happened but god I hope I wasn't too late. I'm too scared to plug that external drive back in right now :-( So poor Jerred is spending his night trying to rebuild that computer for me.

What I really need is a new laptop for work, but I'm just an "independent contractor" for a one-man shop so it's not like he has a computer budget. It would be a tax deduction for me but ugh. It's really NOT in the budget no matter what I want to call it, personal or business. I've window shopped a little today and saw several in the $500-$600 range that would probably be perfect for me, not sure why I torture myself like that. Sucks.

Ok - no purpose to this post except to whine, I apologize. Thanks for "listening" if you got this far. :-)
