Anniversary Gifts?

Anyone given any thought yet on what you want to get your DH for your first anniversary?  I'm thinking of a couple ideas.  One possibility is to do a 100 Reasons Why I Love You book but I'm afraid that might be a little too cheesy.  I'm just curious what the rest of you guys might be planning.

Re: Anniversary Gifts?

  • I am looking into b-pics. I need to call a few places for pricing, etc. If I don't do b-pics, I might do a new grill (ours is like a 25 year old hand me down, haha). DH loves to grill. I also thought about NFL Sunday ticket on Direct TV and a subscription to Sports Illustrated. (DH is a HUGE sports fan.) His birthday is the day before our anniversary, so I may do a combo of things.

  • I would love to do bpics but I'm not sure that I want to spend $300+ on that. I'd rather spend the money on an anniversary trip. But we'll see. I emailed a bunch of photographers a while ago about bpics so I should probably sort through all those and see what I can find.

  • This may sound corny, but we have this little joke.

As I have started on a path to getting healthy and fit, I told DH that for our Anniversary he was getting me looking hot in a bikini (for the first time ever).

My gift is a brand new bikini!!!

Not corny at all!!!! I think that's fabulous - celebrating for 2 different reasons for sure!

  • Not a whole lot of thought but we will probably do a joint gift.  He's impossible to shop for and even when I've gotten him something he asks for it doesn't get used, which is really frustrating.  We're also saving up to go to Jamaica in December.  I couldn't get the vacation time in July and we decided that we'd rather run off somewhere tropical when the weather is crummy here.

  • I really have no idea...I definitely want to go with the first year theme.  Apparently, paper is the traditional gift, plastic is the modern gift, clocks are the "alternate" gift (whatever that means), the flower is a pansy, and for jewelry it's gold or peridot.  According to this website: http://www.happy-anniversary.com/year-of-marriage/index.html

  • In my opinion, its truly the thought that counts. The simplest gifts are often the most meaningful because they prove to your significant other that you care, and that you are paying attention. How about personalized gift items such as a wallet, photo frame, pens, cufflinks and others with your husband's name engraved on them. It is not an expensive gift, however it will mean a lot to the person you gift it to, in this case, your husband.

I stumbled upon this website called  www.bluechopsticks.com and they seem to have a huge variety of such personalized engravable gift items. look it up.

Hoep this information was helpful :)
