So I made a praline cake for Dh's Birthday. I swiped the recipe from here. Instead of using a chocolate cake though I used butter pecan. It came out so good. It's positively evil. I also got to use a cake plate that I got for my wedding shower which makes me even happier. Oh and let me add healthy eating went out the window with it.
Anybody else bake/cook anything over the weekend.
Re: Cake!
I really shouldn't have looked at that link! Yum.
I cooked a stuffed cornish game hen rubbed with fresh herbs from my garden for dinner last night. DH and I love these little hens, they're perfect for us. I didn't plan a side very well, so on the fly I made the most amazingly creamy mashed potatoes.
I also boiled asparagus for the first time. I was surprised how tender they were. We eat them at least once a week, but always baked.
I had a major baking fail last night. I was completely craving chocolate chip cookies, and I just happened to have some homemade dough sitting in the freezer. Since DH is out of town for the week, I knew that if I made the whole batch, I would just end up eating every single cookie. In order to restrain myself, I cut off enough dough to make three cookies. Simple right? Not so much. Not sure what happened, but I guess I set the timer wrong and they ended up absolutely crisped
How bad is it that I still ate them though

That looks amazing!
I'm thinking about making either some brownies or chocolate chip cookies right now.
Mmm!
I was too busy to bake over the weekend but I have three very ripe bananas and am thinking about making banana muffins tonight.

I hope you found time to make them tonight, but if not, make sure to freeze the bananas! I swear my best banana bread comes from frozen bananas.
Mmmm, cake! No baking for me last weekend, but I will be baking tomorrow!
Erin's (the house guest) 19th birthday is tomorrow so I'm going to make her Margarita cupcakes (19 being the legal drinking age here in Toronto).
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
