Gift help- cousin traveling to Rome
I need help with a gift- you ladies are always good with suggestions so I figured I'd ask you. My cousin (female- 20 yrs old) will be studying in Rome for 5 weeks this summer. We're celebrating her bday this weekend and I need to get her a gift. I want to get her something she could use for her trip but I'm stuck. Any suggestions would be great- thanks!
Re: Gift help- cousin traveling to Rome
an extra memory card for her camera, travel journal, euros!!!
When my friend's little sister left to study abroad, I wanted to give her Euro's but I hate just sticking cash in an envelope. I got a bunch of smaller envelopes (like the ones for the tiny gift cards they put with the wrapping paper) and wrote on the front of the envelope specific things she could do with the Euro's and put them in a travel wallet.
She went to Belgium so I wrote things like, for a piece of Belgian chocolate and admission to the blah blah museum. I just looked up some different things she could do over there and estimated how much she would need. For your cousin you could do, for a shot of limoncello, for a gelato on a hot summer day, admission to the colosseum, etc.
When we went to Rome for our honeymoon, we were given tickets to see the opera La Traviata and that was a lot of fun.
a companion ticket for me to go with her??? i LOVE rome!
I agree with the extra memory card, you could get her a snapfish gift cert for her to get the pictures printed when she gets back.... Before I studied abroad my friends made me a small book of pics of all of them for while I was there, but I was gone for 6 months... a new pair of sneakers for all the walking she will do? a new piece of luggage or a cute bag to use while she walks around (you walk a LOT in rome), a journal was a good idea too!
GREAT IDEA. honestly cash is the best thing. i am not a travel journal kind of person so if someone gave me one i would be so confused what to do with it.
My mom travels a lot--so last year for Christmas, one of the things we got her was a folding/hangable cosmetics case: This one from Fossil She had been previously using something from like, the 70s for all of her toiletries.
Maybe even fill it with some useful travel size things? Hand lotion, nail clippers, etc?
i like this idea! i don't think she has anything like this either. thanks!
Euros
One of these passport cases (I have one and have bought it for friends as gifts, too...it's great and I love Hayden Harnett!)

I also like the idea of a cosmetics case. I've always wanted a Kate Spade one!
