Some thinkin' questions for your Tuesday morning

1.  Tell us something that you were strongly against for a long time that you ended up doing yourself by choice or accident and realized your opinion may have been WRONG?

2.  Tell us something that you were strongly against for a long time that you ended up doing yourself by choice or accident and realized your opinion may have been RIGHT?

Re: Some thinkin' questions for your Tuesday morning

  • 1. Consuming alcohol--my upbringing was such that it just WASN'T DONE, moderation or not. DH and I went wine tasting on our honeymoon, and I realized we'd been missing out. Now even my parents enjoy a glass of wine (or, in my dad's case, Scotch...) now and then and the sky has not fallen because of it.

    2. Co-sleeping is not for us.

    bahaha

These are VERY good questions.  I need some time to think these through.

  • What type of situations/answers are you looking for?

Depends on the situation or what you are looking for, I may plead the 5th lol.

Interpret it however you want.  It doesn't have to be heavy subject matter.  You can talk about a product you thought you'd never try or something.

  • I WAS WRONG:

    1.  My opinion was that there was no magic solution that would clear up my face and I was stuck with my crappy skin.  But, those ProActiv commercials got to me and I tried it, and guess what, I think that it is working.  My face isn't magically flawless but I have noticed a big difference.  Almost three months and counting!  Does this sound like a commercial or what?  I'll have to think of another one later.

    I WAS RIGHT:

    2.  I was strongly against buying any kind of motorized vehicle for my kids to ride on saying that they wouldn't get exercise from pedalling, etc.  But, I caved because I wanted to give J a unique toy for his birthday.  I found an inexpensive motorcycle online and got it for him.  And I was right!  He never wants to ride on the pedal big wheels.  He's always on the motorcycle.  Now it makes for some cute pictures...but....  Good thing is that it is cheap and will probably break down at some point (or become to little for him) or he'll realize he can't go very fast on it.

    TBD:

    3.  We are going to Disney.  I was strongly against it because I think "The Mouse" overprices everything and uses parents' weakness to please your kids as the means to do it.  I'm pretty sure I'll be right but I can't wait to see the kids' faces when they see that place :-)

  • 1) Co-sleeping was something that had me freaked out.  Henry was sick a lot as an infant, and we ended up trying it.  Worked for us, and it was the only way we could all get some sleep.  (Thanks for the topic reminder, GRKaters)

    2) The only examples that come to mind immediately are work related and ... yawn... boring.

  • 1.  I was wrong about asparagus.  It's delicious grilled with EVOO and S&P.

    2.  I was right about goat cheese - BLECH!

    ;)

And GRSP, I was TOTALLY against cosleeping but like you guys it was the only way we all slept.  And at 2, we are still bedsharing the second half of the night.  I enjoy the snuggles :)

  • 1) I was wrong about Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I thought he was a total joke when The Terminator was elected governor of California.  Turns out, he seemed to do an alright job.

    2) I was right about sauerkraut.  It's still nasty.

  • 1) I was wrong about Direct Deposit. I fought it for a long time.  I had to go to the bank every other week to make my deposit like a little old lady.  What was I thinking - so much easier.

    2)  I got nothing. Not that there isn't anything, I just can't think today.

    1. I used to refuse to eat spicey food because I thought it would always be too hot, but it's actually really good.  Now I eat it all the time (I started eating it before I was pg).  I was missing out for so long!

    2. I was right, it's not hard at all to watch what I eat while being pg.  It's all about moderation and exercise- no "eating for 2" here.

I can't comment on #1, but you are dead wrong about #2. ;)

But it's so much fun to eat for 2.  Plus I didn't gain any real weight until my third tri anyway.  1st and 2nd were spent puking for me.  So by the time I was finally able to eat, I took full advantage.  :)

  • I WAS WRONG

I totally thought we'd co-sleep.  With H on 3rd shift I thought LO and I would sleep together.  But with all his kicking and moving around at night I got no sleep.  So he stayed in the bassinet and then his crib.  Actually made me sad.

    I WAS RIGHT

Well so far I was right on the amount of help the ILs give with LO.  They may spend time with him, but we can't rely on them to actually watch him.  MIL has never even offered to change a diaper, not even when he was little and easier to change.

You put enough thousand island dressing and corned beef with that and I *might* be able to handle it :-)

I can't handle the sauerkraut hate! Crying

I feel the need to make sauerkraut salad for you both at a summer BBQ. It is sweet and crunchy and can change the minds of even the most staunch sauerkraut hater.

    Indifferent

I've never heard of a sauerkraut salad before!
