Crafty ladies, help me out.
While staying with my Aunt and Uncle last weekend, they showed me a poem that my Great-Great Grand Father father wrote for my Grandfather when he was born.
I really want to incorporate the poem in our nursery. But I have no idea what to do other then just print it and frame it. I would like to somehow make it cute. Maybe with a cute mat? Any ideas? Also I just don't want to print it on plain old typing paper, is there a place that might print it for me on heavier paper?
(Side note, I learned that my great great grandpa was a famous Scottish songwriter from the late 1800's. I've been googling his work all morning. )
Re: Crafty ladies, help me out.
That's so cool! Both that your grandfather was a famous songwriter and that you have that poem. I am very impressed.
I'm not very crafty, so I don't know how much help I can be. But are there by chance one or two lines of the poem that are especially poignant? If so, you could have those painted on the wall, or stuck on as wall decals.
Kinko's should have different paper options for you, if you decide to go that route.
What about something like these...you can have something custom done on etsy:

If you have it printed and framed, I like using different size/color fonts too. Makes it a little more interesting. What a cute idea!
Check out this post. Probably not exactly what you're looking for but might get you thinking..
You could get it embroidered on a quilt.
Otherwise, the other suggestions are great.
How special!
I really like the wood sign idea. And the embroidery on a quilt. There is an interactive quality to the quilt, playing on it or cuddling up for story time, that I think is sweet.
Have fun with whatever you choose and keep us posted on your project!
