Which pack and play do you have? Love or hate it? Special features?
I had a crappy one with Chase that I used with Bella, but it broke. Since this baby is going to be rooming with me for a bit, I wanted one that had the bassinet option built in.
Re: Pack & Plays
I have a graco with the bassinet, newborn napper and changing table.
We didn't use the bassinet feature too much for her to sleep but she used the newborn napper a TON. We still use the changing table every day though she's almost at the weight limit for it.
This is similar to the one I got. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4133853&CAWELAID=546601620 .
I love it. If you're going ot have the baby sleep in it, make sure you get one that has a nice thick bassinet pad. The cheaper pack n plays have a thinner pad.
Sorry, I meant the napper. Using the napper in the beginning, rather than just buying a seperate bassinet.
And I was just looking at the same exact one!
I don't think you can go wrong with a Graco. I had the basic model and it had a bassinett feature, changing area, clip on caddy. It's in great condition and we still use it
LD's is super nice

I am a super fan of our PNP. I actually have used the bells and whistles like the music and light for naps -- and the remote. I will remote the music if I hear him stirring from the other room.
I have had to wash the mattress pad a few times and it totally holds up.
I highly recommend a Graco with a newborn napper if baby is going to be sleeping in it. Emma loved the newborn napper. I used it until she was probably way over the weight limit for naps. Her feet were hanging over the edge but she slept so soundly.
I have basically the same one LD linked, just different fabric. I am disappointed in the changing pad, it leans but we make do. I still use it for emma as a playpen now or I'd give you mine. Is your older one a graco? I wonder if the newborn napper will fit on other PnPs. If so, you can certainly use mine.
ETA: Nevermind, I realize you said yours broke.
I got this one for my shower. I obvs haven't used it yet but I love the little napper/changing table on top. When Hunter was a baby, they didn't have this fun stuff.

I also got one of these bad boys:

I was doing a lot of reading up on them and they came highly recommended by a lot of my friends. They said it is a life saver.
Good! I'm glad to hear that you (and Emma) both liked it. Like I said, I heard it's a miracle so I figured I'd give it a whirl. I also love that you can fold it up and carry and pack it for anywhere easily rather than having to tote the pnp around if you go anywhere overnight.
Yes, the Rock and Play is a miracle worker. Tam, if you just want something for the baby to sleep in next to your bed for a few months, the RnP would be perfect. If you need it last more than 6 months I would go with a PnP.
No bells and whistles for us:

but we didnt need the bassinet/changing table parts. Its really easy to set-up and comes with a carry bag if you want to travel with it. I think a pp said it best - you can't go wrong with Graco.
Thanks everyone! I actually plan on getting both! When I had Bella, I had the old PnP set up downstairs in the living room to make changings, and naps, etc easier down there since I had CHase to look after too. Then I had a bassinet next to my bed.
Well the PnP is crap now (I think it was an evenflo one? can't remember the brand) and the bassinet was the same one from when ANdrew was born 10 years ago and just can't hold another baby.
So I plan on having either the PnP or the RnP next to the bed. WHatever works out best.
Thanks for all your input! I really like the Graco ones and will definitely keep a look out for sales at BRU and coupons!!
