Today I had a blast at a chocolate making class at Chocolee in the South End. There were 13 people and we made a very thin, dark chocolate almond bark, earl gray truffles and mint truffles, and molded chocolates filled with cardamom or espresso ganache or peanut butter.
The class was a blast and now I have a very heavy box of chocolates sitting on my dinning room table. I could have done with out the two children there who I think managed to put their hands on every piece of chocolate made, (I even asked one of the girls to wash her hands after she licked her fingers... mom did not seem to care.) But other than that, I had a great time! Now I'm looking forward to making my own candy for my next dinner party. : )
Re: Chocolate fun...
Right!?!? Last week I watched as a kid deep throat-ed a bottle of water. the mother looked @ her and said "put that back"! I was so disgusted! (I gingerly picked it up and asked the clerk to throw it away.)
otherwise, you are making me drool!!!
I have so many snarky and inappropriate comments to make about the kid's abuse of the bottle water, but I will be good. ; )
Why people seem to want to bring their children to adult events is beyond me.
It sounds like fun otherwise!
Heeheehee
The class sounds great otherwise. So when are you hosting a GTG to teach the rest of us?
I know Ginger! It sounds amazing!
This really irks me. I have friends that do this, and it annoys me to no end.
A GTG would be fun. If I had thought about it, it would have been fun for a bunch of us to take the class at Chocolee together.
Another option might be to take a class together at Stir. : )
I'm planning a garden party/ open house some time this summer, I will make sure I extend an invite. : )
Fun!
The Earl Grey Truffles are amazing! I've not had the ginger... I think I need to try those. : )
She is so sweet. BTW... Amazing chocolate cupcakes and the best chocolate croissant I have ever tasted!
