Recommend your humidifier...
After a scary episode I had with morning sickness this morning, the doctor advised us to get a humidifier because the air is too dry in our house. *TMI* I woke up with the typical morning sickness but after getting sick notice some blood in my throw up. I also have dry blood in my nose that only comes out when I blow it out.
The doctor told me to i should sleep with a humidifier and take Pepcid (for my acid reflux) because she believes my acid reflux is irritating my throat. So ontop of the medicine I take twice a day I now have to take Pepcid once a day.
Please recommend a humidifier that you use. (I don't care if it's childish and from babies r us) I'll use anything!

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
Re: Recommend your humidifier...
The one I have is from Bed bath and beyond and I think it's a sharper image humidifier. It's OK. it gets the job done.
I had a major problem with bloody noses when I was PG and we were living in the condo. It was winter, the heat was on all the time, and we had forced air heat to make matters worse. I had to sleep with the humidifier on every night. It sucked.
There are two basic options -- warm mist, and cool mist.
Warm mist heats up the water to boiling temp, causing steam. It is basically quiet except it will make bubbling noises from time to time, so if random noises bother you when you are sleeping, it might not be a good option (although this is the kind that I prefer).
Cool mist uses a fan to basically blow the water up into the air. The sound will be a more constant white-noise kind of fan sound, so might be easier for sleeping, but I have had issues in the past with the wick thingy inside growing mold, so I stick with the warm mist kind now.
Other than those two differences, they are basically all the same -- you probably don't need a huge one if it's just for your bedroom, but if you decide to use one in the living room or other larger area, you'll want a bigger one for that.

I bought a cheap one from Target. Homedics I think. I got the warm mist one but it ended up getting moldy and I threw it out. But it def help with mybloody nose and stuffyness while I was preg. Now I have a niosey vicks cool mist one in Drew's room. Its a tank but I use it mostly to drown out the house noises when he's sleeping.
I'd suggest going to BRU and using a 20% coupon. They have a few different kids there that arent all babyish. GL, I hope you feel better soon.

I had a few bloody noses also during my pregnancy....I freaked out in the beginning b/c i never had a bloody nose but then found out it was normal.
I too have the Crane one...the penguin...in the baby's room. I love it. It is cool mist...they also suggest you get cool mist for kids...i think it is mostly b/c the warm could hurt them...i think they are afraid of burns, etc.
