I feel like I'm trapped here. I want to work out. I actually have the motivation to do it now.
I don't feel comfortable working out at my ILs house. I work odd hours and from the moment FIL comes home, he commands the TV, so at-home DVDs are a no-go.
I thoughts about joining Planet Fitness and DH keeps saying it's too expensive and that we'll "join next week after this check clears." (there is ALWAYS a check though...) This is the plan I'd most like to do. We are saving up to buy a house and need to save every penny, so I understand his hesitation.
Then, I thought about just taking a class in town, but none of the classes line up with my insane work schedule.
What do you girls suggest? Someone help. I NEED to work out.
Keep in mind that just going outside and running isn't an option cause I have horrible knees.

We're living with my in-laws so we're currently in a 9x10 bedroom. sigh...
Isn't Planet Fitness the one that's only like $10 a month?
I know there are quite a few gyms around here that are only $10/month with no contracts. I would look for one of those. They usually don't offer classes, but they have the basic equipment.
I think you definitely need to join a gym. If only to get a break from the ILs. It must be tough living in someone else's house.
Don't a lot of gyms offer short-term memberships over the summer for students and people looking to get in shape for the summer? Like, 6 weeks for $79. Maybe that's a way to couch it with your H, tell him you're just joining for the short-term and then you can always extend it or rejoin it later on after you buy the house.
Or just look at the budget yourself and find a way to make it work, try to cut out something else.
