"But kids RUIN your life!"

That was the last statement from DH last night literally before he started snoring. I started to defend and he was literally asleep. Like, not faking it, but really asleep. I then proceeded to laugh, out loud, about it.

At least he did finally come to terms with the fact I'll be talking about it every day (I've had rabies for months, heck, years, and he knows it). "So I guess your not going to stop talking about a baby ever, will ya?" Ahhh... he finally gets it. ;-)

Re: "But kids RUIN your life!"

  • Is he being serious?

If he doesn't want kids and you have baby rabies, that might not be the best combination!

He sounds like my DH up until this past summer. I think what changed for him was when we were at our neighborhood party with all of my extended family and he realized that he wants our kids to have the same experiences the little ones are now having... for my DH, once he realizes something, he gets it... but it's a slow process (and painful).

  • Oh, he wants kids. But he's a stinkin' big kid sometimes and gets whiney about having to give up his toys (ATV, motorcycle, etc.) even though I don't think he'd need to.

    He's just a turd.

And I wanted to share because it made me laugh.

He definitely doesn't have to! It's Maine, kids grow up on that stuff :)

Exactly this, Meg!!!! You should see MH and my dad playing with MJ's blocks.  They get so annoyed when he comes over and knocks them down when they're building :0)

Haha Yup! And he already has the "killer" swing set planned for the yard and he wants to get a small boat to take Caroline in here in the rivers etc. If anything he's adding toys faster them ever :)
  • My husband still says this.  Accepting that your life is over because you're having kids allows a person to enjoy the new life in a weird way.  We all love our little ones, but, yes, life as we knew it is over.  Sleeping through the night...over for years. The ability to not worry..over. But oh..the new things we get to do are way cool!

  • He's a special one.

I know he wants kids and he'll make a kick ass dad. (Have I mentioned how freakin' adorable he gets when he's around other kids? Like when he limbo'd with his cousin's 3 year old girl on the beach in Puerto Rico so she'd have company?)

And I know that he'll have any kid of ours in the garage with him getting greasy or out playing in the mud with him.

But he cracks me the freak up.
