Where are these planes coming from?!
We didn't realize we lived that close to an airport.... we have airplanes flying overhead all the time. WTF? No one told us this would be here. Glad we didn't buy the house and we're just renting.
What airport is this from?? Is there something other than the Detroit airport? Seems like the planes are much too low to be from the Detroit airport.
The kids love it... me, not so much. Especially at 11pm when I'm trying to go to bed.

Re: Where are these planes coming from?!
What area are you in again?
There are a few smaller airports in the area as well.
I work in Warren, and there is some plane flying low with a banner behind it, and it's be going all morning. I'm not excited by any planes flying near my work!
There are small airports for the small planes all over the area.
You're not too far from Metro or Willow Run airport (in Ypsilanti), but I doubt Willow Run would be having an 11pm plane coming in. There's also a small airport in Plymouth, but that's just for personal planes, not like Metro.
We're just north of you in Northville & we get planes flying over all the time, but I don't really notice it, maybe it's a bit louder for you in Canton.
I was going to say this also, where I use to live we had them overhead regularly though they were not very low so not a big deal at all.
This, you're in one of the flight paths. I live much closer to the airport than you and genally don't hear them or see them. They usually fly in over Detroit/Dearborn and land at Metro and take off to the south, but sometimes they reverse the directions and the planes will take off to the north and circle over you or me, depending (you're a touch further North).

There's also a small airport on Joy Rd. in Canton, but you are right in between Metro and Willow Run so large planes would be coming from there.
We get planes flying over all the time, but they aren't really noisy, DS loves it.
THIS. We're in Canton and rarely hear any planes
