Hello! I've been swamped at work and haven't had time to pop in lately. Today is my "day off". However I have to drive 2 hour round trip to present on a big event to a board meeting. It will probably take me 5-10 to talk. I don't get paid for drive time or mileage.
Take a wild guess on who swallowed a bitter pill this morning?

Did we talk about how Mother's Day went? My was ok. We celebrated on Sat. This has been an very expensive month for us, so instead of going out to dinner I suggested that we pack a picnic dinner and head to the airport. The girls had a blast and it was actually much more relaxing than trying to keep them entertained at a resturant.
I had to work on Sunday for our Mother's Day brunch. It was CRAZY busy. Not the brunch part, but our cash register wasn't working properly, people were buying from the gift shop like crazy, we had a plant sale that did twice the business we have done it the past. My parents, ILs came to brunch. TH brought the girls along. We aren't going to do that again for a few more years. It was too crazy. The girls wanted to hang out with me, but they couldn't and TH was getting stressed because they were being loud. I was beat by the end of the day. I stopped off at the drive-through for dinner. I didn't even want to think about making anything.
One more thing before I hop in the shower. When I check the mail on Friday, I noticed a card and it had TH's name on it. So I told him that his mom sent him a card. He looked at me like I was nuts and said it was for me. His mom addressed it to Mrs. Husbands first and last name. I totally didn't see the Mrs. part.
Ok, I know she is old school and I don't mind Christmas cards to Mr. and Mrs. THs name, but a card for ME??? Come on, put my name on it.
Wow that sounds like a crazy day, thank goodness for drive thru's when you really need them
And I think it is strange that they addressed YOUR card that way, but I'm not at all traditional haha.
I'm trying to get work to give me a company vehicle. I get paid a good amt per mile when I drive my car, but with gas prices this high it's definitely not covering gas plus wear and tear. That, and I've put a ton of miles on my new mini van already and need oil changes every month. Hopefully I qualify for a company car, it would be so much easier!
Good luck with your presentation - sorry you have to waste so much time driving though. :-( And your MD sounds good for you work since it was busy but not so good for you - glad you at least treated yourself to some dinner.
So, the Riverbank Run is this Saturday. I got sick last week, only got in 2 runs (usually would have done 4). Then on Monday, I pulled my quad at tennis. I am not using it at all (usually would have done 3 runs - now no running, no dog walks, no nothing) in hopes it heals enough in time to not be in unbearable pain on race day. This is a bummer because my training was going really well.
I put the new rental up for rent on CL less than an hour ago, and have 2 appointmens to view it already! Yay.
PS. My sister broke up with her boyfriend and is moving out. That didn't take long! Haha.
Her mom is getting it. So oh well. LOL

I thought of you on my walk this morning when every Saucer Magnolia tree I passed had lost almost all their petals. They are beautiful - but sheesh what a mess!
In my area, the petals are still on the trees here and they are gorgeous...I stil want one!
