I seem to remember someone on here working for a no-kill cat shelter. My H worked with an older man whos wife recently passed. they have 2 cats. He is having to move and where he is going can't accept cats. I don't really know much about these cats other than 1 of them is older and has to have insulin shots daily. He is moving Friday and he's been searching for someone to take them for a month now, with no luck. I can't take them. We are already maxed out on animals at my house. He's going to have to have them put down if he can't find somewhere to take them and he's a mess over it.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Those are the no-kill shelters I can think of at the moment. The Scratching Post is the only cat-specific one that I can think of. I hope your neighbor finds someone! I'd volunteer but we really can't take another cat!!
I'm a volunteer at The Scratching Post. To place a cat, we ask that people call the shelter at 984-6369 (all calls go to voicemail, but we have a volunteer who returns messages). You can also search on Petfinder for other shelters in the area--there are a lot of them, but most (like us) are perpetually full and finding a spot is tough. The best approach is to call as many places as possible to try to catch spots as they open up.
If he hasn't already, have him check in with his veterinarian to see if they know of any other clients who might want to add a pet to their family--it's a longshot, but sometimes it works out.
Such a tough situation for him to be in! I hope he's able to find a good situation for the cats.

Also, Clermont County Animal Shelter is a "kill" organization, it's just that, from what I understand, since they got their new shelter built they usually don't have the need to euthanize cats because they have plenty of space.
Best of luck to him. And bless you for trying to help. I can't imagine being in that position.
