Any business analysts on the board?

Can you tell me a little bit about what you do day-to-day and what kind of salary you make? Thanks!
I'm not crazy, I've just been a very bad mood for the last 40 years!

Re: Any business analysts on the board?

  • I'm an Assoc. Business Analyst. Honestly, I feel like its kind of a generic job title when they don't really know what else to call you. I work in Finance, so a day in my life, is very different than a business analyst in another area.

In an average week, I will analyze contracts and enter data into our company systems. Sometimes I may review data entered by other employees for accuracy. I will correspond with employees in other departments to exchange information - They might ask about how is their client set up in our system or why they are getting paid, not getting paid, getting paid differently than last time. I may ask them questions about if they meet certain qualifcations or the effective dates of changes.

Besides our company specific programs, I regularly use Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook.

In Stl, my salary is in the mid-30s.
