I'm buying a new car this week or next week, which is a shock, but my current vehicle needs a lot of work and I'm ready for change.
I currently drive a Jeep. I'm going to be purchasing a 200.
Has anyone previously driven an SUV and gone to a car? I'm in LOVE with the car, but I am worried about not being able to get used to the height difference and visibility change! What do you think?
Re: Car vs. SUV
every once in awhile i have to drive my husbands car though and it's not horrible. I think if you LOVE the car you would get used to it. the gas mileage will help you get over it if you don't though. ;-)
I'm not much help because I just went from a car to a Jeep. I say to DH all the time I don't know how we ever lived without an SUV. We've used it several times already for things we could never pick up/haul with a car. If your DH has and SUV/Truck of some sort this probably makes no difference to you.
Gas however, you'll be very happy with a car! I'm sure you'll get used to the change, it was an adjustment having to climb into such a higher vehicle for me but after a few weeks it felt normal.

I'm mostly choosing a car because of the gas mileage! DH drives a PT Cruiser (so very small car), but my parents have 3 SUV's at home that we can use when/if we need a larger vehicle for something.
I test drove the 200 on Monday. I really do like it. I have always driven Jeeps so that's my only hesitation.
I was not expecting to buy a car yet! DH's car will be paid off in December (and mine was paid off 4 years ago) so we were hoping to go at least a year without a payment, but as many of you probably saw on FB this weekend, the Jeep is dying a slow and painful death!

Then you'll love it! It's huge sticker shock for me every time I get gas still. Not only are gas prices sky high but the tank is much bigger also. You'll be sticker shocked in a good way probably!
I love the 200's! Good choice!
I just went through this two weeks ago. I traded in my Wrangler for a family friendly cross-over. It took a LOT of car shopping and test driving to find something I felt comfortable with as far as power delivery (coming from driving a straight-6 to driving a 4-cyl), didn't feel too low to the ground and was (for my taste) somewhat sporty enough. I have to say... #1- the enormous savings in gas mileage are AMAZING! I am looking at saving ~$50-$70/month. I cannot believe it is making this big a difference. #2- the ride is a lot smoother and more comfortable for sure. Probably a bigger advantage for my passengers than for me, but still....
Don't get me wrong, I still get teary-eyed thinking about the Jeep I had to sacrifice but in the end, it was definitely the right decision.
About two years ago I went from a Grand Cherokee to a Sebring and I miss having an SUV. Unfortunately I bought the Sebring so I'm going to try to ride it out for a while but....ugh! When the opportunity for a new car presents itself, I'll be looking at a SUV or Crossover for sure!
I am doing the same thing! I have a Jeep Commander and am going to sign the paperwork for a Ford Fusion on Friday. I'm nervous but excited at the same time.
FYI- I'm not sure if you are leasing or buying the 200 but a convertible car seat won't fit in the back of a 200 rear facing. I know you don't need it right now, but you will!
