BR: DH is already whipped
Since we were so excited that we finally knew the sex, we went out and each purchased a toy for her ( I got the pink seahorse that everyone recommended and J got her some toys to go on the car seat handle). Well, once we got to the car he turned to me and said "I think I will get her a small toy every week now" My face just thinking of how many toys we will have accumulated by the time she's born --->
She already has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger !

No names yet. I have a list of one's I like but he has been dragging his feet with compiling his list. I think he's getting a bit overwhelmed at the responsibility that goes with choosing her name. He wants to find the perfect one and not rush into just choosing the 1st one we both like.

Actually, I would. I would most certainly be whipped if we were having a boy.Before we knew what it was, I totally thought it was male. I was already envisioning him playing tee ball (not to say our daughter won't play) and even doing the mother-son dance at his wedding. My male dog is a total Momma's Boy so I could only imagine how much worse I would be if I had a male (human) child.

I tend to gravitate toward the more Italian girl's names or at least names ending in an "a". I know that some of these J hates, but these are on "my" list:
Alessandra ( Alessy for nn)
Gabriella (Gabby for nn)
Giuliana (not sure of the nn)
Katerina (Kat for short)
Lilliana ( Lilly for nn)
Mariella ( Mari for nn)
Natalia (Nat for nn)
Nicholina ( Nicky for nn) I love this name but my paternal grandmother would disown me if I used it. It's her birth name and she hates it so much she has always gone by a different name. I think it's pretty.

A nickname for Giuliana woudl be Giuly (Julie), yes?
I would read that as "Gilly" - like fishes' gills - because I suck a phonetics. BUT I think still it's a wicked cute nickname!

I was thinking that but then her nn would be a totally different (actual) name.
I really wish my Grandma wasn't so sensitive. I really do love the name. I think it's best to let it be, though. I'm not sure how J would feel "naming" our daughter after MY Grandmother. I already vetod his Grandmother's names ( Dorothy & Sylvia) and even said we should choose a name that is not the same as any relatives.
