Sorry I keep talking about this...I learned how easy it could be, and now I need to perfect it!
I made the meatballs last night (Hannah, I used your recipe), and they turned out ok. But they were really tough.
What did I do wrong???

Re: F/U to Meatballs
oh no! lol, no worries. We will help you to make the perfect meatball.
However, I'm not sure I have any suggestions. We use ground-turkey instead and don't have an issue.
Maybe overcooking?

Over cooking, over mixing, and lean beef are probably all culprits - haha!
I used 96/4 or 93/7 (which is what I always buy...the leanest they have). I also tend to overdo everything, so that would explain the over mixing. And they didn't look done yet, so I put them back in (and may have forgotten about them for a little while!).

lol @ may have forgotten
No big deal, if that was your biggest mistake on your first try then you're in good shape! Plus I'm sure your H was thrilled to have the meatballs, and probably didn't even notice them being tough!
I have nothing to add, but just wanted to say that I LOVE that we have a "Follow up to meatballs" thread title. lmao
Missing our little turkey.

I vote all of what Kearstin said plus overcooking.
I am going to make mine tonight, I will report back with the results.
Ha! I know. And I thought about that as I was saving it (and the fact that I have created three different meatball posts in two days).

Meatballs were delish!
The sauce was a little tangy for my liking, it was like one of those things that you can't eat very much of without getting gut rot. Too much sweet and sour. Otherwise we really liked it, going to have to modify something next time.
Did you do the Hawaiin?
