Vision 4 Less, America's Best, Walmart...
Who has good glasses and actually does a decent job on prescription? Ella just broke my glasses and I prefer to wait until my next exam with my regular doctor to get good glasses, but I could really use a pair to get me by. I would love to hear any experiences, good or bad!
Re: Vision 4 Less, America's Best, Walmart...
Vision 4Less is great! Patrick got a pair there for $130, total that was frames & lenses, but you could get a cheaper pair of frames then he did. I need to get new glasses as my contacts/glasses have just enough of a difference that I get headaches.
My parents both have had good luck at Vision 4 Less also, Walmart not so much.
Walmart has cheap frames, but my lenses are really expensive since I'm pretty much blind
They also take at least a week to get.
I always had good luck with Vision 4 Less when I was younger, but I have no idea how much my glasses actually cost since my parents paid for them!
I just went to America's Best and was quite pleased. I knew I wasn't going to walk out with "2 pair for $69.95" with my prescription (heavy on the right eye plus astigmatism). I picked out frames from one of the racks that was priced over $100, and upgraded to the lighter lenses with a scotchguard coating. I ended up with one pair of regular glasses and one pair of sunglasses for about $220 after tax. The only downside was having to wait a week.
I used to pay at least $300 for one pair at Lenscrafters. Ouch. I don't find any difference in quality between these and my last pair from Lenscrafters.
I recently got some FREE (only paid shipping & handling) glasses through CoastalContacts.com. Check out their site and/or their facebook page. They do promotions (particularly through their facebook account) very frequently. And I can tell you, I've been really happy with my glasses. They are the right prescription; no problems whatsoever. If you're going to try for one of their giveaways, though, my advice is to have the frames picked out ahead of time so that you can go in and quickly add your order. They have a HUGE selection, so I wouldn't want to take the time to look through & decide when the deal is going on or you might miss out.
That's my 2 cents
