Downtown Hoedown
Is anyone going? I've never been before and I would love to go! I really have no idea what to expect. I assume it's going to be crazy, but is it a good time?

H really wants to go this year - he's been in the past but not recently. I've never been, TBH I don't really like a lot of country music but it looks like a fun time.
We're thinking of going on Sunday.
ETA - I have been downtown for something else while it's going on before and it's busy/crowded. Pretty much what you'd expect with a lot of people in one space and drinking going on.
this. total madhouse. I went 3 years ago and vowed to never go again.
I went with a girlfriend several years ago, when it was a "newer" event, so it wasnt all that busy. We had a really good time. But then I went about three years ago with DH and it was mad house and not enjoyable at all. We decided we were never going again. There are so many people there you cant move. The lines for everything are huge. There was nothing enjoyable about it.
My sister and her boyfriend use to go every year then one year she got hit in the head with a cowboy boot, so they stopped going.
The story cracks me up though so I thought I would share.
This. We went last year for the 1st time. It was ridiculous battling drunks & strollers. Not to mention the sea of plaid shirts. I don't think it's worth.
We go to the Hoedown every year but we are HUGE country fans. Honestly, the line up for this year leaves a lot to be desired. The crowds are really ridiculous and people can be down right rude. I am not going this year because I am not going to bring P down into the madness and there is not anyone big enough that I want to use up a babysitting opportunity for something I just kind of sort of want to do.
