So I was up at 5:30am to vote

I prepared last night by laying out my clothing, brewing a pot of coffee to quickly heat up this morning, and gathering my handbag, book to read, snacks, etc.  You'd have thought I was running away. Stick out tongue

I got to the polling site and was about the 8th person in line.  We started voting at 7am, by which time I am estimating there were about 200+ people in a line that snaked out the door and around the parking lot.

The good news is that I was able to vote kid-free and was home by 7:20.  The bad news is that I already feel as though my day should be half over. Sleep

Re: So I was up at 5:30am to vote

  • Yay!

I feel the same way. ?I got up at 5, and I am DRAGGING now.

  • Hahahahaha, I love your sig.

Anyway, I also got up at 5:30 to vote, but our polls opened at 6 (which is why I left my apt).  I was done by 6:30, which apparently gets me to work 2 hours early.  My shift starts in an hour.  Yipee!

ETA: And not dragging because I made myself an iced skim mocha latte at work.  (I love our coffee machines!!)  Wooo, caffeine!!!

I'm a morning person, too. Angel

I'm actually a morning person as well, so I can't imagine how tough this would be for someone who isn't!

And I have to laugh at the caffeine cheer.  I was pregnant or nursing for nearly 3 years straight (I had my kids back-to-back) and just stopped nursing a few months ago.  I am ALL about the caffeine now, LOL!

  • MMmm caffeine. Mad props to you for getting up so early!

I am NOT a morning person and dragged my sorry.ass out to vote at 7. Our line was only about 30 minutes long, though, so I sped through.

  • I'm a morning person, but my husband isn't. ?So I've learned to stay up with him. ?The last time I looked at the clock before he was ready to go to sleep was 1:30. ?Yeah, I'm kinda tired...

If I stayed up with my husband, I would never sleep.  Dude stays up past 3:00am.

Haha, my DH is a crazy-late night person as well.

  • We have both compromised so that we're awake together mostly. ?I like that we always go to bed together now. ?I understand with your H's schedule, though, that probably couldn't happen!
