Verizon users

DH just got a the Incredible 2 yesterday through Verizon. This is his first phone with a data plan. He went with Verizon because of the great discount he got through work so I am hoping it works out well.

Anywho, as sad as it sounds it is new to him (and to me as well actually since I use a work blackberry and that is about it). He is currently muddling through the apps and such, is there anything he may overlook that anyone wouldn't mind recommending? Tricks?Things to watch out for (fees that he may miss on some apps by mistake though I guess they look clearly marked but you never know).

Re: Verizon users

  • This is my first phone with Verizon that has apps and I think they do a good job warning you which ones are going to cost what before you download.

As long as his data plan is unlimited, he should be good with unlimited data and what not and not get overage charges.  I get a ton of email on mine and haven't had a problem yet.

Now if I can just figure out how to keep my battery life longer, I would be super happy!

  • Thanks I didn't know if I was being incredibly stupid with my question. I am not kidding when I say my knowledge on the newer phones is limited (as is his).

You can only do so much looking up online before you really want to ask people you know and trust for their opinions. Not looking for any major direction just nestie tips.

  • There's an app called Lookout that I've seen recommended on a lot of sites that scans any apps you download to check for malicious content (since anyone can design an app, you have to be careful to make sure they're legit & from a trustworthy source). I also always make sure to read the comments on the app first to make sure it's worth downloading & doesn't include anything shady.
