OMFG! (Updated 5/12 a.m.)

I just got a call from a firm where I interviewed like 6-8 weeks ago!  I had written them off after they didn't call and didn't respond to my follow-up email (I also sent a postal thank you).

I am so excited to call back when I get out of work!  (Okay, I already called, but I got the person's voicemail so I decided to wait and call back after work lol.)

  • That's really exciting! I hope it goes well for you.  Never write anything off.  My H interviewed for 3 different jobs in one company before being called and asked to interview for a position.  Apparently he had made a great impression with the right person it just needed to be the right opportunity.

I think this is what happened in this case - I interviewed for a legal secretary position but was overqualified (I work as a paralegal at my current firm) so I am wondering if they are offering the original job or something more.  She said they were "very impressed" with me and something about how they had planned to contact me if a position opened up which was sort of odd since I interviewed for an open position originally...

I would be so jazzed if it is a paralegal position since the $ would be better.

  • that's awesome! congrats!!!

That gives me a glimpse of hope I guess that perhaps there is a chance that I'll still hear back from my interview from last Wednesday. *crosses fingers*

update us after you call, I am curious about this one.

I will :)  I am really trying to relax in case it's like "come be our admin assistant for $11/hr" lol.

  • I talked to the firm yesterday after I left work and it turns out they thought I was overqualified for the job I originally interviewed for but had been looking for a place to use me ever since!  The job they are offering is working directly under the OWNER and managing partner of the entire firm (19 attorneys, 5 or 6 offices, w00t!)!!!

I am going back in on Tuesday to meet someone in that department since I originally interviewed with a different partner, but it definitely looks good.

    :)

  • Yayyy that's super awesome!!  CONGRATULATIONS!

  • Thanks I'm really excited but I am trying to remain calm until I know for sure that they are going to meet my previously discussed salary requirement.
