Where did you buy your carpet?

I'm only looked for carpet at Menards and Home Depot. Any other places you can think of? Are there any carpet outlets with good deals in the metro?

Re: Where did you buy your carpet?

  • I don't know of any outlets, but I bought mine from Carpet One (locations throughout the metro) twice and had great experiences.  They can come out and measure if you're room is funny shaped.  I walk in and tell them my budget, what they project is, and we work together from there.  Highly recommended.
  • We are also looking at carpet right now.  We recieved an estimate from Home Depot and working on getting one from Costco (you get 3% back if you have the executive membership at the end of the year).

  • My DH installs carpet and we recommend any of these places.  I also recommend buying from a small shop.  You are going to get a better quality of customer service and you will keep these guys in business in these tough times!

Sounds super familiar, so I think Bloomington Linoleum and Carpet is where we bought our carpet a couple years ago.  Great experience.

  • We just purchased carpet from Home Depot for the new house.  I think we'd have preferred to go through someone smaller, but Home Depot is on the 'approved' list for WF's 203k loans.  It was only a few rooms, so I didnt' think there would be a huge price difference.  We went to HD three different times, and got great customer service each time, thankfully.
