yummy grilled tilapia

tonight, i attempted grilled tilapia and it turned out really well!

i've been cooking tilapia for years, but only either breaded and fried or oven baked herb parmesan crusted.

so i brushed some olive oil on both sides of the filet, sprinkled with garlic powder, salt and pepper.

then i sprayed pam on a disposable grill pan (i get them at the dollar store, it's a foil rim pan with tons of holes) and tossed that on the heated grill. i did lower the grill temp a bit after it preheated because i didn't want to burn the fish since i consider it more delicate than chicken or steaks.

placed the filets on the foil pan and brushed them with hoisin sauce. grilled for 3 minutes, flipped filets - and none broke! -and brushed with more hoisin sauce.

grilled another 3 minutes. checked one and didn't flake so easily, so cooked for 2 more and it was perfect.

the taste was nice and subtle. i think next time i want to marinate the filets in pineapple juice and then do the seasoning and hoisin.
