Ok, so we are trying to eat some fish now. I never really cooked any fish other than swordfish at home, so this is all new to me!
Does anyone have any recipes for Tilapia? Is this just like cod fish? I bought some frozen filets that I want to try.
Thanks!
Re: Tilapia recipes?
It's a white fish, but I find it a bit "fishier" than cod or haddock. It's not bad, I just prefer the other two.
This is a great tilapia recipe: Parmesan Tilapia SOOOOO good! I made it with tilapia, then again with haddock.
I also made this (but with haddock): Cilantro Ginger Tilapia
LOVE Parmesan tilapia. I think tilapia is pretty forgiving. It is slightly "fishy" but I think it takes to a lot of flavors well. I've "battered" it in blue corn chips pulverized by a mini processor and spiked with spices. I've baked it in nothing but butter and lemon. I've rolled it up into a little aluminum foil pouch with veggies and thrown it on the grill. I like it steamed with some soy sauce. But, the girls love fish tacos, and I think tilapia is awesome in fish tacos. This is actually one of the first fish taco recipes I tried and it is terrific:

But obviously, you can cater the concept to all kinds of tastes.
