I am only 5 weeks along today, but I have been hit with some serious food aversions and queasiness. Today I had yogurt with strawberries and any bite with a strawberry in it I had to force to keep it down. Actually most fruit right now is not my friend. Thankfully I am ok with veggies still. The only thing I seem to really want to eat lately is a big salad. Too bad we ran out of greens last night.
Re: Strawberries = gross
i didn't eat much in general the entire 1st trimester. i didnt ever puke...but i was constantly not hungry and nauseous. i lost 10lbs at the beginning (honestly i think from stopping drinking mostly!) ha!
i was OBSESSED with strawberries though once i got my appetite back. seriously HAD to have them. ate them by the gallon. it was ridiculous. my grandmother got seriously concerned that B was going to have a huge strawberry birthmark all over his face or something.
ooo...you make me want strawberries!
I had major food wants and aversions for the whole week I was pregnant. All I wanted was cake and oranges. Meat grossed me out, but meat grosses me out sometimes regularly anyway.
I also had major smell aversions. The neighbor's laundry made me want to hurl (we lived in an apt and their vent was right by my door. Usually love that smell). One of our agents perfumes made me really angry too. Like filled with rage, wanted to yell at her.
Early on most food sounds gross to me. I just didn't want much. In less than 5 weeks I lost 10lbs, not that it was a bad thing on my body.
For my whole pregnancy the biggest thing I craved was a plain bagel and plain cream cheese.
My Profile
I was/am the total opposite. I normally like veggies/salads but this whole pregnancy it's been work to eat them. Fruit, now that I can eat all day long. Unfortunately most of my pregnancy was during the winter so we didn't have much good fruit here. I did just buy a watermelon at the store yesterday and it's just gone today
