Work function, how dressy?/
Hello! I have to go to a recognition dinner at work tonight- and I have no idea how dressy I should be!!
DH is fine, he's wearing a shirt & a tie...
Me.... either a little black dress (somewhat sparkly, with a black sparkly sweater b/c it's probably slightly too low cut for work) OR a black & white print cotton dress with a red sash/sweater. I'm not sure if the second option would be too casual or if the first would be too dressy!
I've only gotten vague responses from co-workers, and am waiting to hear back from the one that will probably answer it exactly the way I am hoping!
I don't have pictures of either with me.

I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
This. You could also maybe bring some more casual jewelry in your purse and swap to that if necessary. Have fun!

Everyone welcome.
Thanks! I am going to go with the black dress. I guess people wear all sorts of things to this... and my friend said she assumed it was like a semi-formal event we had in grad school- and she found out it wasn't once she got there! They said some people will be in jeans, some in formal gowns, and everything in between. I do not want to be TOO casual, so the black dress is a safe bet (since I am no longer a student and now one of the faculty
).
