Job interview! (and hair decision)

Okay!

So I only have unofficial indications that I passed my NCLEX exam (the testing company won't let me register to take the exam again), but I went to Kohls today and bought a lovely little black shirt dress for future job interviews. Jumping the gun? Maybe a little, but I had $10 Kohls Cash and a 30% flyer coupon. Couldn't resist.

It must have been the dress juju, but I just received a phone call from HR at CMMC and I have an interview on the 24th with the hiring managers of my preferred unit! Yippee!

The only way this day could get better is if the State Board of Nursing web site updated earlier than midnight and I saw my name listed there!

(PS. I'm keeping this hush-hush on FB in case some of my classmates don't get called for an interview...)

So now the big decision is: do I cut my hair in my every-few-years chin-length bob? Or do I keep it long? Decisions, decisions...

  • AWESOMENESS- Congrats Daniele!!! Be sure to keep us posted on how the interview goes/when you get your official test results, I'm sure you rocked it!

As far as the hair, hmmm... I'm in the midst of trying to grow mine out, so I would say let it flow, but it seems like you're having great luck these days, and a new haircut always feels fabulous, so go for it!

  • HOORAY!!

And I vote for cut it!!  I chopped mine recently from mid-back length to shoulder length and I love it! It just feels good to have a new haircut!

  • Contrats on the interview!!

For hair I would say go with whichever makes you feel more comfortable and confident, since interviews are stressful enough without having to feel uncomfortable with how your hair looks. Which hair length do you feel the best in?

  • YAY!  This is great news.

As for the hair- would you like to be able to pull the hair back for work?

  • sweet!!!!

    Daniele, RN in the Nest!

and cut the hair - I too an a "once in a while between shoulders and chin" and it always makes me feel fresher - which is what you need to start a new career.

  • I think a shorter haircut looks more professional because you are forced to put some effort into it. Though I also agree that you may want the option of pulling it back once you start working.

Congrats and good luck with the interview!

Congrats and good luck with the interview!

Actually, for me-- shorter hair is easier. It just falls into place and has some body because it's not got the length to weigh it down. When I have long hair, it's a HUGE effort to get it to have any body but also be shaped right and then it usually goes flat and blah within minutes to an hour. So it ends up in a ponytail mostly-- especially for work-- and that takes a long time to brush the bumps and tangles out of it...

When I say short, I mean chin-length-- always long enough that I can tuck it behind my ears with or without a barrette.

I think I may go for it. It will look better during the summer...

  • Congrats on the interview!  Is it for the hospital where your application status had changed but you didn't know why/how?

It's obvious you're leaning towards cutting your hair - go for it!

  • Congratulations on the interview and good luck! It is very exciting.
