Embarrassing Question Re:Shoes.
I work at a professional office where my daily attire is a dress or skirt suits. I wear heals everyday, as do most of the women in my office. I live in south Florida, so especially going in to the summer, wearing suits is very hot. As a result, I forgo wearing nylons. My question is how to avoid my shoes starting to smell like smelly feet after wearing them for a month or two? I am replacing them all the time but really don't want to wear nylons. Any suggestions?
Re: Embarrassing Question Re:Shoes.
As strange as it sounds, put the shoes in an open ziploc bag and put them in the freezer overnight. (The bag protects the shoes, but the air needs to get in, that's why you leave it open) The cold kills the bacteria that's causing the smell.
Another thing that would help would be having more than one or two pairs of shoes. Wearing the same shoes every day keeps the bacteria in the same environment helps it multiply, which is why they smell over time. Giving them a day or two off from wear will help keep them fresher smelling longer.
