TTC: Do you know how long your LP (Luteal Phase) is? Is it long, short, or average? Have you had to make any adjustments to accommodate your natural cycle or done anything to try steps to adjust it?

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears?

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg?

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking?

L&D: Did you have a feeling that you would go late, early, on-time? Were you right?

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)?

  • 1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears? I am looking forward to seeing what LO looks like and all of the milestones. I fear the teenage years, lol.

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg? No, but I didn't think much about it beforehand.

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking? I still need to look, but I am thinking we will go with in home care over a center. I kind of hope it works out that my mom can watch LO, but I really need to start searching for alternatives.

L&D: Did you have a feeling that you would go late, early, on-time? Were you right? I thought late and unfortunately was right.

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)? Our only bedding is a fitted sheet since we nixed a bumper and didn't want a skirt. We did a Pooh theme because it is gender neutral and I have over 200 Poohs I have collected since jr. high.

Updates: Still pregnant. Induction is scheduled for next week if LO doesn't get out of me soon.

  • TTC: Do you know how long your LP (Luteal Phase) is? Is it long, short, or average? Have you had to make any adjustments to accommodate your natural cycle or done anything to try steps to adjust it?

My cycles have always been very average, including LP.

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears?

Oh, pretty much excited and fearful of...everything Stick out tongue

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg?

It's different than I expected in a lot of ways.  The body changes are harder than I thought they'd be, which surprises me about myself.  It's not as physically glamorous as I think I hoped/thought/expected ;)

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking?

We wanted a daycare center and we started looking around 15 weeks, and put a deposit on our go-to place at around 18 weeks.  For us, it really took seeing several different places and how they worked for us to be able to evaluate specific things we liked about one over the other.  Everywhere we looked met all of the expectations of things we definitely had to have (legal stuff like ratios and all that, cleanliness, interaction with kiddos, etc), but little things like daily projects, communication with parents during the day(s), play area set up/toys they have to play with, sleeping area, etc...varied slightly from place to place and it wasn't until we saw a few places that we could get a feel for what made us most comfortable and what we wanted *ideally* for "the one" to have.  I do believe in the gut-check "this is it" feeling though, especially if you get a chance to visit several places.

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)?

T owns and plays a lot of guitars, and I wanted guitars and music to be the theme so we could use some of those in the room and expose baby to one of our mutual loves - music.  We easily agreed upon it.

Updates: Nothing new to report.  25 weeks today, feeling pretty good and can't really complain. :)

  • TTC: Do you know how long your LP (Luteal Phase) is? Is it long, short, or average? I think it was pretty average.  I was only keeping track wtih DS1.

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears? I'm excited to see how the two boys act with each other and play together as the grow up since they are relatively close in age (16-17 mo apart).  I'm fearful of how DS1 will react when we bring DS2 home.  He doesn't like his 6mo old cousin to touch any of his toys...

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg? I'm not sure I had expectations of what pregnancy would be like, other than morning sickness...and that didn't happen for me.

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking? we went with a daycare center. When I was looking for DS1, they all had availability for our expected start date, so we didn't actually visit any until I was on maternity leave and we didn't do a deposit until after DS1 was born.  DS2 will go to the same center, but we put in his reservation/deposit in March because they were already receiving deposits for November at that time.

L&D: Did you have a feeling that you would go late, early, on-time? Were you right?I thought I would be late with DS1, he was born on his due date.  this time I think we might go early.

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)? DH found these fish decals that rub onto the wall, and the room already had a chair rail in it, so we did an ocean theme below the chair rail and a safari animal theme above the chair rail.  It doesn't really match, but I don't care.  :-)

    Not sure

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears?

I'm nervous of how I'll handle taking care of 2.  Excited to see my new little guy.

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg?

    yes and no.

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking?

N/A, DS # 2 will go to the same one as DS # 1, 2 days a week  the rest of the time the boys will be at home with DH.

  • TTC: Do you know how long your LP (Luteal Phase) is? Is it long, short, or average? Have you had to make any adjustments to accommodate your natural cycle or done anything to try steps to adjust it?

Had to google that, so, I don't know :)

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears?

As happy as I am to be staying home I am nervous about the transition from a working mom of an independent preschool to a stay at home mom of two.  I am worried that J will have a hard time transitioning from being in school around friends all week long to being home with a mommy who is taking care of a newborn.  Hopefully we can get into a fun routine soon enough.

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg?

Easier.  I'd heard all sorts of horror stories and both PGs have been easy.  The birth process on the other hand...

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking?

With J we were mainly looking for a certain educational philosophy.

L&D: Did you have a feeling that you would go late, early, on-time? Were you right?

I thought I'd be early, J was right on time.

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)?

J's nursery was a huge deal, we spent sooo much time and effort building furniture, sewing, painting huge murals, etc.  We pulled the theme out of a book - my decision but it was based in DH's love for Hawaii.  Poor #2 is going to be jipped.  We won't move into the house where she'll have a nursery until next month so nothing is done yet.  And even when we are moved I have no grand plans.  Hopefully I'll be able to pull something cute together, going with a bee theme.

It started off short post birth control (9 days), but after taking B-6 supplements it's gradually increased and now hovers around 12 days.

  • TTC: Do you know how long your LP (Luteal Phase) is? Is it long, short, or average? Have you had to make any adjustments to accommodate your natural cycle or done anything to try steps to adjust it?

I think mine was pretty average. Around 13 days or something like that.

1st trimester: What part of motherhood are you most excited about/looking forward to? Fears?

I am excited about, looking forward to, and fearful of everything.

2nd trimester: Is pregnancy anything like you thought it would be before you were actually pg?

Never really thought about being pregnant before getting pregnant.

3rd trimester: If you are looking at daycares/nanny/etc what are you looking for in one? What are your main concerns and when did you start looking?

N/A. I was laid off from my job at the end of February, and we've decided that I would stay home for the baby's first year. My parents live nearby, so they'll be watching the baby whenever DH and I need some adult time.

L&D: Did you have a feeling that you would go late, early, on-time? Were you right?

This whole time I'd been hoping that I'd be early, but my mom told me yesterday that she delivered me a few days late of my EDD and to not hold my breath. Whatevs, I'm still hoping that I deliver earlier than June 22nd. A week early would be nice. Before the weather gets too hot.

First days: How did you decide your nursery theme and choose bedding and d?cor? Was it all your decision or did DH help (and did you both agree on how it should look)?

We don't really have a theme. We really liked the Sophie bedding from PBK, and bought the set when it went on clearance. So we have a pink and aqua color scheme going on in her room, with black furniture.

Updates: I'm 34 weeks!! Sugar and blood pressure is still holding steady. I go in for the Group B Strep swab at my next appointment (36 weeks). We started our Childbirth Prep classes last week and so far so good. I'm also looking forward to eating cake with some really awesome people at my baby shower this weekend.
