Well Chris got me thinking I should post my birth story too

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I try to get on and lurk real quick but my dd will not leave me alone if I am online.  (this might be the only reason why I miss being at work)

So I was due on 4/1 but was late and trying everything to get this baby out and finally on Monday night 4/4, we decided to 'do it' to move things along.  I was so not wanting to being so huge and uncomfortable, but sure enough 4 hrs later at 230am I started having contractions. I didn't wake up dh until 530 since this was his first night off and he needed sleep (he works nights). I was able to labor at home until 730am and able to drop Sam off at daycare early and then off to the hospital. Contractions were now 4 minutes apart. When I got to the hospital I was 4 cm and contractions were 3 minteus apart.  I progressed pretty well and was at 7 cm when I could no longer take the pain and asked for the epidural. Well, at this same time, another patient was rushed into the operating room for a c-section b/c her water broke @ 24 wks. It was crazy hearing all the doctors and nurses running around outside my room in a panic.  I felt so bad for that girl and thankful for my uneventful pregnancy.  My nurse came in and told me about the emergency and that I wouldn't get my epi for another hour b/c the anestesiologist (sp?) was in the OR. I  thought I was going to die by then and couldn't imagine another hour of this pain, but then felt selfish since something more serious was going on.   They offered me pain meds and I turned it down since they said it would make me feel drunk. Well about ten minutes went by and I was now crying in pain and asked for the meds. Luckily at this time another aenestesiologist from another floor came up to help out. I wanted to marry this man!! I got my epi and they broke my water at 7cm. I then went from 7 to 10 cm in 5 minutes.  I pushed for ten minutes and at 12:47pm John was born at 8 lbs 12 oz, bigger than we expected (they guessed 7 lbs).

This birth was a lot easier than Sam's and faster. I also recovered much faster too. When we got home, unfortunetly Sam got a terrible ear infection and stomach bug. Bad enough to have her admitted to the hospital for dehydration overnight. It was awful dealing w/this my first week home. Myself and the baby couldn't go near her since we couldnt risk catching whaterver she had. It broke my heart turning her away when she cried for me.Not only was she dealing w/the this, but she was trying to get used to the new baby.  I was a hormonal hot mess for the first two weeks. But Sam got better. I ended up getting sick anyways with a sinus infection, but the baby never caught anything.  Today everyone is healthy and my little man is about 12 -13 lbs guessing. All he does is eat! Juggling two kids is a challenge but we are getting used to it.
