Who has a good washer/dryer?
We need to buy a washer/dryer for our new house and there's about a million options. Anyone have a recommendation?

Re: Who has a good washer/dryer?
i have had really good luck with my kenmore washer and dryer that i bought 6 years ago when i bought my condo. (Kenmore is Sears brand). i got them on sale and free delivery as well. they dont have bells and whistles...i think thye were $800 or $900 for the pair and they're pretty basic...but they're big and they get the job done.
the most important thing for me is to have a large tub to wash as much in 1 load as possible. i hated my apartment size stuff where i could only wash like 3 towels in 1 load. so, these work well
also...be careful of digital displays...while they may look nice ,sometimes that's the first thign to break.
Whirlpool Cabrio.
It holds a lot, is HE, and is pretty quiet.

We have the same thing, but it's the Maytag version (same company). The Maytag was cheaper to begin with and on much more sale when we went so that's what we got. We did HHGregg and got free delivery and a rebate.
I only wish I'd gotten the steam dryer for wrinkles, but H didn't feel it was necessary. Not sure how great it works since we didn't get it,but I feel like I'm missing out.
There may be some memorial day sales coming up - you should check them out. Most places price match each other too.
...and FWIW we did a lot of comparison with front loaders too. The cons in the past seem to have been addresses - there are pause buttons if you want to add a garmet, cleaning cycles to help with the smell, etc. I just didn't want to have to leave the door open b/c our laundry room is combined with a half bath (strange, I know).
Also the front load we way more expensive. Normal price they're about the same, but you have to buy the stand things they sit on. Even the ones that just sit there (aren't drawers) are like $100-$200 bucks. No thanks!
