When did you start to show??

...for your first....

I am 14 weeks today and still have nothing, nothing at all. I feel bloated but nothing showing yet. I'm not complaining but where the heck does the lemon go??

Re: When did you start to show??

  • hehehe! that made me giggle.

Actually, baby is still way down behind your pubic bone, especially with your first baby. With my first I didn't start to show until about 19/20 weeks, and even then it was only if I wore a maternity shirt to emphasize it. with my second, it was more like 13 weeks!

At your stage it's just bloating for now. It will happen though - and when you're 38 weeks along and can't move, you'll be wishing to get back to the just bloated stage ;-)

  • you are so tiny, I'm going to place my bets you are gonna have just a belly and we wont know your pg from the back!!

but like Michelle said.. you'll probably "pop" around 18 weeks.  It's like magic.  You go to bed, and you feel "hmph.. still don't look pregnant" and then you wake up and POP, there's a belly!

This exactly! I was about 19 weeks when all of a sudden one day the bloat vanished and voila - hard little baby belly!

Well with my first, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 3 months along (did not have regular periods at the time), and I don't think I really showed until about 20w or so.  I know that at the end of college (24w), I had a little bump that I was trying to hide.

Now with my other pregnancies, I showed super early... 10w with DS, 8w with DD, and around the same with the pregnancies that I lost.

  • Well, when you look at my pictures you can tell I thought I was showing around 18weeks but the rest of the world didn't think I was showing until about 24 weeks and I was still pushing my belly put! Just wait. I looked like I swallowed a basketball by about 32 weeks but my basketball doubled (at least) in those last few weeks! Aw, I kinda miss my belly!

Totally true!! Even my husband said, "It's like you got pregnant over night." I think it happened for me around 18 weeks.

  • You are so tiny that I agree that you will just pop soon. I'd say around 18 weeks as well.

Because I carry extra weight, I think strangers etc are scared to ask me lol. And I'm 25 weeks! But I feel like I definitely have a baby belly.

    It'll be there soon!!!

  • exactly what every one else said.  Plus you're in great shape so you'll look even better :)  I was around 20 weeks too.
  • Most of my co-workers were still unaware I was pregnant when I was 6 months/24 weeks pregnant!  I could actually pretty well hide I was pregnant (wasn't doing this on purpose just sometime wore baggier clothes when doing yard work, etc) until I was 8-9 months pregnant.

Probably around 20 weeks I started getting a belly that I could notice but before then it was just bloat.  I do agree that one morning you will just kind of wake up and be like where the he!! did that belly come from :)

I loved my pregnant belly and think they are the cutest things!  You def need to share belly pictures!

I carry extra weight, but people really couldn't notice until sometime between 25-28wks with my first pregnancy. It was closer to 22-25 with my second.

  • Well I definitely started to carry around that bloated feeling early on....but to me I started showing an actually belly around 10 or 11 weeks.  To the unengaged observer I'm sure it just looked like I was putting on a little weight until several weeks later.  I know though once I started to pop, even just a little, I was kind of obsessed with showing it off ;-)

Everyone is different in the end...a friend of mine is due in just a little over 3 months and was just telling me last week she's started to pop now and it's her 3rd baby!!  (I haven't seen her recently)....but she is very very tiny, and slim and has been super sick....so it all depends really.

  • I think it also depends on what time of the year you are starting to get big. I got pg in march so by the summer I was wearing less clothes and you could tell around 15-16 weeks. There was no way I was wearing a sweatshirt to cover it up :-) Also, if you are a smaller person both in height and size, I feel you show earlier too. At 4'11 inches there was no way I could hide it for long. I told my principal I was pg with #2 at 8-9 weeks b/c you could tell I was pg then!
