My friend is selling her move-in ready townhome in Alexandria (near Shirlington, Pentagon, Mark Center) - 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, hardwood floors, new windows, new shutters, new hot water heater, finished basement w/bonus room and walk-out patio. Can walk to metro bus stop (at the corner of Seminary Rd.). Easy access to 395, Route 7, Route 50. More details in the link above.

And a disclaimer: Nestie dawnmichie is the realtor on this, but she didn't ask me to post this. Just trying to help my friend, an old coworker.

  • Hey thanks, Diana!  I should let you know about all of my listings.  Wink

  • I love the mouse on house website!  I keep complaining about not knowing what each picture is of in listings and how it corresponds to the layout of the house.  Genius!
  • OMG!!!  400k for this townhome!  wow, i'm going to need a serious mind re-adjustment for living in this area.  right now, in ohio, our home is twice this size, at least 8 times the yard size, and only 6 yrs old for less than 300k :(  oh gees!!

Mom to three beautiful blessings: Sweetgirl, 1/07 and twins Big girl & Booka on 11/11 (their mama nicknames)

Sorry for the shock! Smile Proximity to DC  = $$$$$, and her house is within 5-10 minutes driving distance of DC (if traffic is clear). In 2007 we were looking inside the Beltway and couldn't justify paying $6-700K for these tiny old SFHs in Alexandrai/Arlington/Falls Church, so we looked outside the Beltway instead. Right now in Herndon we have a pretty big SFH (about 30 years old) with a huge backyard that would probably be in the price range of $400K. (when we bought in 2007 it was almost $500K)

We figure the postive side of living here is that when we move to a lower cost of living area in about 7-10 years, we'll be prepared to buy something as nice as we want, with change.

  • It's a fabulous neighborhood--we've lived here for about a year and a half.

A lot of the SFHs in the neighborhood are priced around the same range as those townhomes, but the townhomes are much more updated.  (The houses around here were built in the 50s/60s.)

Your friend's house looks great!   I hope it sells quickly!

    I love my life.
