at home bikini wax

I just did a little at home maintenance because of a cruise I am going on this weekend, and MY OH MY! I can't even see down there! I tried using a mirror, didn't help that much. And the worst part, the damn wax was impossible to wash off ! I am pretty sure my underwear is stuck to me right now.

Re: at home bikini wax

  • LOL!  Yeah, there's a reason I don't do that at home... even not pregnant, you have to be a bit of a contortionist to see everything, and then you also have to get the right angle to actually pull out hair.

Try cooking oil to get the wax off, followed by a toner to get the oil off.

  • hahahaha I just laughed out loud - way to start my day off right! Did you get a kit? They should have some wax remover solution that came with your wax. Did you use the wax that you need strips with or the hard wax - I have found that the hard wax works a lot better "down there" - for what reason I'm not sure. I do it once or twice a summer and don't really mind it so much anymore.

  • Oh Manda - more power to you  - the one time I attempted an at home wax i knew i wouldnt be able to do it alone so I recruited hubby to assist - we werent even engaged at the time and lets just say I'm amazed our relationship survived it haha - I was in tears by the time it was half way over and Im pretty sure I just told him to stop.  It was AWFUL.
  • that makes me want to cry thinking about it.... I'm sorry. I can barely see my girly bits... I couldn't imagine trying to wax it... eek!

  • Lolol... I am so sorry, I am not trying to laugh at you but with you. :) I am personally terrified of waxing anything so you get the A for effort and bravery.
  • I did buy a kit, one with the strips. It really got a lot of the hair off, I was impressed with the amount I saw on the strip, but then the wax was just getting everywhere and I couldn't get it off!! H was too scared to help me! lol I don't blame him

I use to do this at home, but it's been awhile. After this cruise I think I am just going to let it go down there until the baby is born.

  • Oh gosh that doesn't sound pleasant at all!  I hope the wax came off ok.  That's why I pay a professional when I want a wax job. I don't think I'd have the nerve to try it at home!
