I don't talk about SIL (or my brother) very much. But I have to vent about this.
And I will preface this with the fact that my brother breeds birddogs. So they have about 12 dogs at their house.
Back in 2001 B and SIL were going through a separation. She came storming into our family house with my brother's guns (to drop them and all his stuff off). My father's German Shepard sensed the energy and nipped her in the leg. Since then the dog has never bit anyone and is very very calm (the kids...including SILs son... climb on her and she doesn't care).
Fastforward to today, the dog is 12 years old and her health is quickly failing (she actually may get put down today). My father is going to Texas and asked if he could leave his two dogs at my brother's kennel. SIL said no because she is scared of the Shepard. WTF. She is 12! She is an old old dog and has been having nerve problems and can't feel her back paws. So SIL is scared of an elderly dog that can't walk. Really she is just being a b*tch. She sees how calm the dog is when she comes to family functions.
And on top of that she has never once, in the 9 months of pregnancy and 6 months of Abe's life, ask how I am or how Abe is. Never. At family functions she talks about herself and her sisters. No one gives a sh!t!!
I can't stand her. She has one of the top slots on my "I don't like you" list.
Re: A vent about SIL - long
Brianne, that sucks! Did your brother listen to her about the Shepherd? I mean, if your SIL comes to family functions where the dog is, then she truly can't be all that scared of her! I hope your father was able to find someone who could dog-sit for him.
That has got to be so annoying and frustrating.
Come to think of it, maybe we should lock your SIL and my SIL in a room together and see what happens. Hmmm.....
Oooh, now there's an idea!
That's just awful, I don't understand after all of this time why she would make an issue out of having your father's ailing dog in the kennel, especially when the dog is obviously not doing well and needs love & support. Big boo on her. Garnering attention by hurting another (human or animal) is completely inexcusable in my book. Was your father able to find someone to watch the dog???

Your SIL sounds like a class act. GRRRR.
I am so sorry about your dad's pup.
Throat punch to your SIL!
We too have a shephard with bad hips/nerve issues and just thinking about what your dad has to think about today brough me to a big teary mess. I'll be thinking good thoughts for him today.
bleah, she sucks.
I hope good news comes out of the appointment today!
Or maybe we could put them in a cage with my SIL and poke them with sticks???
I'm sorry your sister is such an insensitive pain in the a$$, and so sorry to hear about your dads dog, I hope he's able to work something out for her.
