Retirement gift for co-worker

I have to plan a retirement party for my co-worker.  She has been a high school science teacher for 37+ years.  I am collecting money and part of the funds goes towards a collective gift.  Any suggestions in the $250-300 range?  I am thinking a clock or jewelry.  She wears earrings, bracelets, and necklaces often.  Also, any good jewelry stores to look at in the area?  TIA!!

  • I like the Smithsonian catalogue or 10,000 Villages for jewelry - you could probably get an earrings, necklace, bracelet set in that range.

  • Things Remembered is always my go to place for items like that. Good luck!

  • My mom is a teacher and had been the only woman in her department for years so was always (and is currently) responsible for retirement gifts!  She usually collects the money and then purchases something hobby related for them.  Whatever the hobby is, they purchase an item or a gift card that can be used for that since they'll have more time on their hands to enjoy it.
