Thought I'd just start a universal "I voted today" thread.
I got up early and voted before work... the line was actually fairly short... about 30 minutes. But I have a coworker who'll be late because his line was 1 1/2 hr.
Who voted this morning, who will vote later, and who has already voted?

Vote this morning with 2 friends (a couple) shortly after 6 am when the polls opened.
The line was maybe 5-10 minutes, and that was mostly to find out your election district (which we knew).
I had trouble figuring out how to vote at first because you have to pull this red lever (which I had to do for Super Tuesday, but I forgot). So, it took a little longer than it should have for me b/c I thought I didn't have enough upper body strength to turn the tabs. Eventually I read the directions, though, and felt like a morAn.
My friend filled out an exit poll while waiting for me to vote, so luckily I didn't hold them up.
The other friend dropped us off at the subway station, and I clocked into work 2 hours early! Yay!
I voted absentee a few weeks ago, but feel left out and am answering this post anyway.?
MD- NY voting machines are so ancient that modern man cannot be expected to know how to use them.

I felt better when I found out my friend (a guy who scored in like the 98th percentile on Step 1 of the boards) had the same problem. I felt like that little old lady in Florida in the scene from the Election movie... you know, how she's staring at the ballot and having issues and getting anxious, being confused, etc.
At the end of the day, though, the lever is kind of fun. It's like a carnival game! ...Never let me near slot machines...
We walked in at 6:15 and out at 6:30. And yes, we have the ancient voting machines. I like them. It's like a little time machine that takes you back in history.
Wait, did I say 'machines'? Make that 'machine'. Singular. There is one machine on the left side for educational district 6, and another on the right side for district 9. One machine per ED district, two districts in a single polling place.
The overhead light actually blinks when you switch the lever to close the curtains, and again when you pull the lever to record your vote and open the curtains. DH didn't know you had to pull the lever to do this, as he voted in FL while in school, and they had fancy schmancy electronic machines in which you pull the curtains closed behind you.

I had the same problem every time I voted. ?Apparently they don't bother investing in directions in Buffalo, so the election judge had to explain it to me every time. ?She?always said, "aww honey, is this your first time voting?" ?
will vote after work. We get home right at 5pm, so I think we'll just beat any commuter rush? it worked last time anyways!
Yeah, we also have 1 machine per ED, but there are roughly 10 EDs at my polling place. Plus it was fast, so I guess it's enough!

We just got back. We were in a line of probably 10-15 people when the polls opened at 7, and it took about 15 minutes. For California it was pretty busy.
You guys will love this - there was a cat like standing guard right outside the door. People kept opening and closing the door and he kept dodging not to get hit or walked over, but he stood right there. I think he wanted to vote for Obama.
I got in line at 7:30, finally actually got into the building at 9:00 and voted at 9:30. By the time I voted nearly 900 people in my precinct (out of 2600 total) had voted. And DC hardly matters in this election--although we do have a competitive city council race.
Before they started pulling senior citizens out of the line to vote I was standing behind a 90 year old African American woman who had brought her 15 year old great-great grandson to watch her vote. He was taking pictures of everything. It was sweet.
I'm dropping off my mail-in ballot during lunch.
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
I voted!
I got the polling place at 6:30 and there were already quite a few people in line (maybe about 10). By the time the polls opened the line was VERY long, so I was glad we got there when we did. We voted in about 15min, so it wasnt too bad for us. Although standing in the rain for over a half an hour did suck.
I voted too. For some reason I am not on the list though. This happened to me during primary voting too, so I had an arsenal of proof in a manila folder that says I CAN VOTE!!! There was absolutely no line to speak of, but I ended up being there about an hour because they had to call the town clerk, have me fill out some forms, etc.etc.etc. If I have recieved certified mail from the town with my name, address, voting district, and polling location one would think that I would be on the freaking list! Whatevah. I think I might just reregister so this doesn't keep happening.
Mikayla came too. She always does. I think it is cute that she gets the I voted sticker too. She is saying that we voted for Hilary though. LOL She paid attention to me before, but apparently not for the last few months. Oh well. She got the party right. ;-p
I voted! There was no line at all - it took less than 5 minutes (well, the voting part - sst hadn't started crying as soon as I checked in, so it took a bit longer).
Any race I didn't know about, I just voted against the incumbent.
