Teachers
How many more days for you? This is our last week. I return on May 23 for a professional day, and then I am finished until August 10.
I have had the BEST group of students this semester, and I almost don't want to let them go. There's no way my students next year could beat them.
What are your summer plans? Like I said in FFFC, I'm putting grad school on hold indefinitely. I'm going to travel to see some friends, do a bit of babysitting for extra $, and spend a LOT of time by the pool.
Re: Teachers
This summer I'll be spending a lot of time at my parents' pool and just trying to stay cool lol. I'll spend some time with my sister during the small break she has, as well as with friends. I'll also be finishing things up in preparation for Baby's arrival, then I'll spend the second half of the summer with him/her.
The past 4 years I've gone to the Supt's Math Academy but it looks like they're not doing that this year so I'm bummed about that. I'm looking forward to teaching 2nd grade again, but I know it'll be hard to go back to work when October rolls around.
I have three half days and a record day on Thursday. It's all finals at this point, so I just have to proctor four finals, Wednesday I have none so I'm going to use that day and Thursday to get my rooms really cleaned up.
We just graduated the seniors today. They amassed over $3M in scholarship money as a group. There were about 100 of them. So awesome. They will be missed greatly.
As for the summer, we have our little Eureka Springs vacation next weekend, then I have about a week or two (can't remember) before my summer classes start. Last summer for grad school! Yay! I also plan to re-write my curriculum for my journalism class, and do research for the others to keep building up my resources.
