AW: I just won free yarn!
I just won 20 skeins of hot pink yarn from the Romancing The Yarn blog! Voting, free yarn and later cookies shaped like swing states (Ohio is going to be delicious!). Today is awesome!
Hey- anyone want a pink scarf?

make a baby girl blanket!
my read shelf:
That I can relate to.
It's Elann's Castilla: 50% Viscose Rayon/ 25% Cotton/ 25% Linen. I've never worked with a linen blend before. It should be interesting.
Pink scarves for everyone! (Not me, though. I don't actually care for the color pink.
)
Hmm... the linen is probably to make it stronger/stiffer. It'll have good hand, good for a scarf, I would think.
Rayon is one of my fav manufactured fibers, but I prefer HWM Rayon (aka Modal) to Viscose.
Is it the ballet pink? Very pretty.
Happy knitting!
Nope, it's the Boysenberry.
My grandmother taught us to knit (just the knit stitch) to keep us quiet while she watched A's games when I was little. Most everything else has been self-taught, though I do got to knitting classes occassionally for a technique I can't get the hang of.
The basics are pretty easy to teach yourself. I like Stich-n-*** for a beginner instuctional book and this site for videos of how to do it if you're more visual. Most of my friends taught themselves to knit and are really good at it now. It can totally be done. Also, if you need help, the people who work at yarn stores are really, really helpful. Good luck!
