Bridesmaid Movie

Who saw it?

This movie made both me and DH laugh a lot!

Re: Bridesmaid Movie

  • I loved it! Defiantly will be added to my collection.

  • Loved it! While I was watching, I kept thinking that I couldn't wait to see it again to see what I missed while I was laughing the 1st time.
  • Glad to hear these reviews! So it's something DH would enjoy too? We are planning a movie date tomorrow and I've been trying to convince him we should see it!

  • we thought it was really funny but only 3 out of 4 stars for me, the food poisoning/bathroom disgustingness was just too much for me.  I HATE that kind of stuff.

I think that Melissa McCarthy stole the show, hands down.  Maya Rudolph didn't really contribute much.  Loved the cop.

DH and I saw it this weekend.  He was laughing louder than I was.  It was great.  It brought back a few too many memories from my experiences being both a bridesmaid and a bride.

Huge ditto regarding Melissa McCarthy.  Her character was the best part of the movie.

Hmm, maybe I'll have to check it out.  I was thinking based on previews that it looked more like a renter but if its getting good reviews...maybe I can get my BFF to go with me.

  • wow I'm surprised at all the good reviews -- I haven't seen it but something made me think it would be awful...

    glad its not!

  • I thought it was pretty good- funny in a few parts I was expecting a lot more. They could have done a LOT more with that cast. I thought Ellie Kemper and Wendy McLendon-Covey were wayyyy underused. They barely did anything, and they could have added a lot of humor to the movie. Most of the story was about Kristin Wiig's life sucking than the wedding party doing stuff together- which is what I hoped for based on the previews.... and most of the funniest parts were in the trailer too!

It is worth seeing but could have been better.

  • I really enjoyed it too....and agree on Melissa, she was awesome in it!
  • I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.  Did you all know that Melissa is Jenny McCarthy's cousin?

Yep.  Looks like Melissa got the smart end of the gene pool (or at least not the stupid one).

  • This movie was HYSTERICAL. Both DH and I LOVED it. I love Kristin Wiig and I love the woman who plays Molly in Mike and Molly. She was too funny.

DH even said we are adding this to our collection when it comes out.

    Fifth Anniversary

I saw it twice - I went Friday with girl friends, then H was pouting that I saw it without him, so we went back on Saturday.  It was equally funny the second time around.

Love Melissa McCarthy.  The airplane.  I'm still dying.  *whispers, "I've got the first watch."

  • I didn't think it was funny. I guess I am the only one? I hate bathroom humor, I thought that Megan was just trying to be Chris Farley (and doing a bad job) and it seemed like we were just supposed to laugh at her becuase she was overweight and manly? This is funny?

i did not get that same feeling.  I thought she was awesome and real and probably the most normal one of the bunch.  her appearance never really played much a factor into character.

her and her pearls in every.single.scene. made me want to wear mine today.

So the scene at the end where they incorporated food into the sex scene? That didn't seem like it was making fun of her weight? Or when she RAN to get brazilian food, while everyone else walked? Or like during the engagement party when she was talking about sex? You think it is just as funny for a hot attractive woman to say she wants to "ride someone" or whatever the heck she said? I mean I guess I just saq a clear different between the jokes she made and the other characters.
