Baby Names You Hate

The name Liam makes me cringe.  Not sure why, but I'm not a fan at all.

Re: Baby Names You Hate

  • I just don't like it when people make up names. Remember my cousin with all the "Z" names? Zadon, Izayah, ect. She ended up naming her child Zaly. It always makes me think "Do you not understand that this has to go on the top of a resume someday?"

Zaly?  Is that pronounced like Ally/Alli, but with a Z?

  • I am not a fan of the name Apple.

Long "A". Like Haley. But, as mentioned, with a Z, because she has this wierd obsession with Z's. She has two other children, one named a non-real name that begins with a Z and one a real name that pus a Z where there shouldn't be one.

That's funny how differently names strike people. There's this awesome little Irish dueling piano bar called Liam Fitzpatrick's back home. With that association in my head, Liam always gets a Yes from me. Wink

ETA: That's definitely not to say that when I met your future son or baby brother I would think of booze. lol The name just makes me smile.

  • Liam is one of our favorites for a boy.

Hate is kind of a strong word lol.  I think the only names that kind of bug me are the ones that are totally made up or have y's added where they don't belong.

It's totally okay with me if my future son makes you think of booze because... let's be honest... There will probably be booze involved with his conception Drinks

We chose Liam because we love the name William Scott (his dad's name + my brother's name). We didn't want to do Will/Bill/Billy because his dad goes by Bill, so we gave Liam the Yes

So you want to name him William, but give him the nickname Liam?  Or will his given name be Liam?

William, Liam for short. I thought that was pretty clear.

  • CD, I think Liam as a NN for William is really cute. I like Liam but it's not on our list.

  • My brother is also a William, Liam for short. He's named after my father whose nickname is Bill.

  • Caden. Sorry to anyone that's attached to it but it's so overused and it's completely made up. It has no meaning.
  • Devon,

We would have used Liam (not William, just Liam) probably for a boy, but our friends named their little boy Liam. Since Trey is William the 3rd, we were going to use it as a way to kinda keep the William going without having a William the 4th
