Re: cookware
Depending on what you want, Tuesday Morning has a lot of the high end cookware at very inexpensive prices. I wouldn't have thought to look there so wanted to at least throw it out there.
I have a very eclectic collection. Anywhere from All Clad pans (not non-stick for searing), Calphalon, a few non rand name pots (but I do like copper bottoms) and then I also have a great non stick pan that I got for free to test it. It's a Green Pan signature edition and I LOVE that thing! It's got a metal handle so it can go in the oven but it's very non stick and cleans up like a dream. No hot spots that I've found, or warped bottoms. (I'm pretty sure they're on the market now.)
Also, I feel like it's more important to get nicer pans and maybe lesser quality pots, but that's based on the things my family tends to eat. Generally I'm just boiling water in my pots. I use a leCreuset dutch oven for soups, etc.
I have the "Target Brand" of pans, that are actually made by Calphalon(sp?) I got them after we got married and Consumer Reports graded them very high, I LOVE THEM! Have not had any issues.
My mom splurged and bought the Pampered Chef ones, and if I ever save up enough money I'd switch to them. I love her's too!
